We are a very small group with a huge task of trying to secure 100,000 signatures. Please help us by asking your friends and family to sign. And ask them to pass the petition link and related request on to others.
We need the government to stop ignoring this dire situation and invest properly in secondary care community mental health services.
There is no medical reason why someone with mental health difficulties should die younger than someone without mental health difficulties.
29,000 of these 630,000 people are dying unnecessarily each year from preventable illnesses. The life expectancy amongst people with more severe & enduring mental health difficulties is 15-20 years less than the population average.
Community mental health services for the 630,000 people who experience 'severe & enduring' mental health difficulties have largely been severely understaffed & appalling for decades.
