Yeah, I do think you need pace and power in the PL, but there has to be balance. We have gone too far in one direction imo. I think Woltemade was a wise decision, but we also needed a more technical right winger last season rather than Elanga

@toonlad9.bsky.social this is what I was on about earlier.

Saw this on X. We are the 15th most direct in build up play and the 1st for out of possession sprints. Is this sustainable over 60 games? and do we not need to evolve our style more in line with those towards the top of this table? #nufc

Yeah, Gordon, Tonali and Tino are all good players, as is Thiaw. Botman can be on his day, and Barnes is a good goal scorer. I also think it would be a shame to sell Wolte without really trying to get the best out of him, and Ramsey has also shown promise.

Honestly, bar Bruno, Hall and Miley I'm not massively arsed who leaves. Obviously, I don't want a mass exodus, but it's only those three who I'd be gutted to see them go

We don't have the wingers to play a possession based game. Every other possession maybe. Ramsdale in for Pope, Hall for Burn, Joelinton out and either Miley or Ramsey in, but our wingers are all far too slack with the ball.

Yeah, sometimes managers, systems etc just have a shelf life. Players need new inputs, stimulation etc. Hopefully, that's not what's happening here, but it also might be.

What would it take for it to be time for you Kev?

Yeah Burn for Botman is the only change I'd expect from that. Can't see Botman starting 3 games in a week.

Yeah, exactly

Yeah it would be better for everyone. It would have to be a change across the European leagues though.

We weren't the only doing late deals though. In an ideal world you get everyone in, but us, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Man United, Aston Villa all did sizeable deadline day deals

Seen some negativity towards the transfer window and the way it was controlled or the lack of it. For me you should only look at a transfer window on who comes in and who goes. The rest is immaterial. And on the whole that makes it a positive window. Not perfect, but certainly positive. #nufc

If you add Miggy into this, it is even better.

I do think there are some small differences between the two situations, but overall players have to respect their contract, and if Brentford don't want to sell him, that's their right. Players downing tools is not the right way to try and get a deal

I think this window will always be marred the Isak situation, as if we were now done and Isak was happy, we'd have one hell of a squad. However, I think this window is becoming an example of how social media misconstrues reality, as we are on the verge of having had an exceptional window.

Yeah, I think he will help at set plays and the fact that we often are in positions where there isn't space in behind so crossing becomes key. Also his link up play is at a different level. Back to goal and in tight spaces he's elite. Won't score the goals of Isak, but is better in other ways.

Yeah, I have been hoping for this to happen since the Euros. Was really impressed by him this summer. He's like a better version of Crouch but a worse version of Zlatan. Still plenty of time to improve too.

They are my tip for the league. They need a bit of luck with injuries, and Gyokeres to click, but I think this will be their year

Murphy, Rondon, Merino, Schar, Pérez, Joselu. What was Rafa building?

This is a societal problem, which goes wider than football. The same people who tarnish (tarbish🤣) all football fans of a certain team with the same brush also think all Muslims are terrorists, immigrants are looking for a free ride, trans people are paedos etc. Daily mail readers with small brains.

What's annoying about this window is if we end up signing Wissa this week, if it wasn't for that Swedish bellend, we'd be in such a strong position going into this season.

That was actually how the team was set up which I saw online.

I hope we sit in and try and hit Villa on the break tomorrow. When we go down there and play a high line, Watkins murders us with his runs in the channels. Seen talk of a back 5. That could work tbh.

8 months ago 1 0 1 0

Yeah, I reckon his wages would be out of reach for us. I am not sure he would want to come either. Atleti guaranteed CL every season.

Yeah, you can't sign both. Thiaw, Watkins, Jackson, McGinn would be decent, but one of the aims of the window was to lower the average age of the squad. Not sure McGinn or Watkins or Wissa are really aiding that

Ramsdale is definitely an upgrade on him as is Elanga on Miggy. Trying to find the positives in an otherwise dreadful window. 😂😂😂

31 in October. Just doesn't seem like as us signing

For me Watkins is the safest hands if Isak is to go. Gives you three years of 15+ PL goals guaranteed, and then go with a younger CF alongside. Woltemade, Samu for example. I also am happy for it to be Watkins and Jackson or Watkins and Ramos

It's almost laughable. I think any doubt that anyone had about Fab being on the payroll of certain clubs has completely disappeared after this window.
