If you haven't read some of the other work by #edgaraward winner @jameskestrel.bsky.social, I highly recommend it. I just finished 'The Dark Room' written under his other name, Jonathan Moore. It was a perfectly crafted #noir #thriller, that had me up late turning pages.

@jameskestrel.bsky.social I went looking for your other books today, and just ordered The Poison Artist. Do you ever regret going with a pseudonym for #FiveDecembers, or vice-versa?

Has anyone here serialized a novel? Have you read or are you reading one? How do you like it, or not?

Cute as they are, feeding raccoons often ends badly. I suggest a quick read of the Wikipedia/Raccoons section titled “Relationship with humans” 🦝
Lucy, you’ve got some splainin’ to do.
Apple TV has done a pretty good job on most adaptations, so I'm pretty stoked about this OG cyberpunk tale. Congrats Bill.

Good luck with your book! Your concept reminded me of this paper I heard discussed recently:

Just dropping this sacrifice in the ether-altar to get those clicks and follows! I hear one needs a pre-built audience to appeal to the gods. I had great fun writing this awhile back, I may pick it up again.

It’s only lazy if the writer treats it that way. Many famous stories end with the death of the protagonist.
Hey @writingdaywksp.bsky.social
Thank-you for the great #Seattle #writing #workshop yesterday! I enjoyed it , and had fun pitching my book to an agent.
For anyone out there considering one of these workshops near you, go for it!

Thanks for this!
Thanks for this. Great thought-provoking content. I guess I’ll go write something edgy, human, revolutionary, subversive, poignant, and entertaining.
Hold my beer.
Totally worth your time.

Ya, I hear you! I make sure to tell #chatgpt I’m asking because I’m writing a #murdermystery !
Reading through the Feb ed. of 'The 3rd Degree' and found this spunky answer from author Rosalie Knecht.
Q: What’s the single best piece of writing advice you’ve ever been given (or wish you’d been given)?
A: Don’t change it for someone who’s saying no to you.

Is the symposium day going to be live-streamed too? It’s a long trip from Seattle.
A guy in my writers group has two finished novels, and has had no success finding an agent. It seems the bottleneck is at the finding-an-agent-who’ll-read-your-book stage.
