Every tool at our Annual Tool Sale, on April 25, has been donated by our community. Have tools to share? We’re accepting donations until April 22. Help great tools find new homes and support the West Seattle Tool Library!

Mark your calendars, our Annual Tool Sale is Saturday April 25. Don’t miss the world’s greatest garage sale—packed with hand and power tools, plus some heavy-duty workshop gear. Come find what your workshop’s been missing!

Easter is all about finding hidden treasures.
One of my favorite “hidden gems” in the shop is the oscillating multi-tool. It’s small but incredibly versatile—able to cut, sand, scrape, and get into tight spots where other tools just can’t reach.
What’s your hidden tool treasure? Share it with us.
Ryan has been volunteering at our Fix-It hours for two years. With a knack for diagnosing broken items, he helps keep things (and people) moving.
He's passionate about building a community where people with limited resources can come together to fix, learn and create.
Late March is the perfect time to give your home a little extra care. Keep an eye on damp spots, improve airflow with fans, and tackle small leaks before they turn into mold problems. If you’re not sure where to start, our librarians can offer advice and point you to the right tools.
West Seattle Tool Library is the place to learn, build, and share skills with your neighbors. Join an upcoming class, check out our swag store to support the library, and if you have a skill you’d love to pass on, we’d be excited to have you teach a class. Let’s keep making together!
Happy International Women’s Day!
Let's celebrate the craftswomen in our community — the builders, fixers, makers, and problem-solvers. We’re proud to be a space for everyone and we’d love to hear what you’re working on.

March is the perfect time to get a head start on your garden and yard. Start with early-season prep:
🧹 Clean up winter debris
✂️ Prune shrubs & small trees
🌾 Rake and refresh garden beds
🛠️ Tune up your mower & tools
Need the right tools for the job? Borrow them instead of buying!
Meet Adrian, our newest volunteer at the tool library!
Adrian just started volunteering this year, but he’s been putting our tools to good use on home and furniture fix-ups. Now he’s giving back and helping others do the same.
You’ll find Adrian at our Wed Fix-It hours. Come say hi.
Chinese New Year is almost here!
It’s the Year of the Horse — a time for momentum and action.
Have something you’ve been meaning to build, fix or tune up? Now’s the time to spur the horses. Borrow tools, start strong, and carry that energy into the new year with WSTL.
WSTL Annual Meeting is today!

Still riding this winter? Or getting ready for spring?
February is prime time for bike & outdoor gear tune-ups: clean & lube your chain, adjust brakes and gears, and check tires.
Skip buying tools you’ll only use once. Borrow them from the Tool Library!

This Valentine’s Day, build it instead of buying it.
Make something meaningful for your special someone—like a picture frame, a jewelry box, a wire-wrapped pendant, or a beaded bracelet.
Borrow tools, make it meaningful, and give a gift made with love. ❤️

Huge shoutout to Yuki, our social media superhero!
She’s been our online voice for a year now. An early retiree and volunteer maniac, she’s all about zero-waste and borrowing instead of buying. When she’s not volunteering, you’ll find her swing dancing, crocheting, or gaming.
Voting is now open!
As a member-powered organization, your voice matters. Voting for WSTL Board Members is open to all active members starting today, Jan 24.
Voting closes Jan 31, with winners notified shortly after.

January is the perfect time for tool TLC.
Brush rust off lawn & garden tools, prime exposed metal, and sand + refinish wooden handles. A little maintenance now means tools ready to work all year long and for years to come.
Need supplies or tools? You know where to find us.

We’re thankful for our neighbor's supporting us with tools, money, and time.
Huge thanks to Julien, one of our amazing volunteers! 🙌 Since last December, they’ve shared their skills through our Residential Electrical and Table Saw classes. They’re also a pro in fabrication, metalwork, and welding. We’re so lucky to have Julien! #westseattle

Big welcome to Sean, our new Tool Librarian! 🙌 He first came in as a renter, then a volunteer, and now he’s leading the way—keeping inventory in shape, writing newsletters, and even teaching classes. When he’s not here, you’ll find him tinkering, gaming, playing D&D, or reading. Stop in and say hi!
