Dear Professor Milkman,

Don't censor your speakers.

Honestly inform your audience of their COVID disinformation and MAHA/MAGA boosterism.

Simply be honest and show their videos.

If you don't, you'll forever be known as an enabler and accomplice.

My latest.

Oh, wow. This is extremely sad, and I’m so sorry for your loss.

All of his businesses and property should be nationalized and dissolved and he should be stripped of literally every single asset and dollar. Put him in public housing and let him live off of whatever UBI the next Congress passes.

Not insane. It’s important to enjoy the little things, and sharing them with others so the feed has some spots of brightness is a lovely thing!

The last time I tried to engage with Jay Bhattacharya in dialogue I ended up on administrative leave. 🤷‍♀️

Michigan powers to its 2nd national title and 1st since 1989, beating UConn 69-63 High-scoring Michigan had to get down and dirty to dig out the national title, muscling its way to a 69-63 victory over stingy, stubborn UConn.

Reminded of this classic:
NASA astronaut Leland D. Melvin with his dogs Jake & Scout.

He had to smuggle them into NASA-JSC for the photoshoot in the back of a van.

If you watched the live NASA channel and all the NASA programming you’ve gotta give it up to some of the best science commentators in the business. NASA is absolutely masterful at this and it’s important to note this is a priority for them. Not many other govt orgs do this level of public education.

A set of screenshots from DEEP SPACE NINE. An old Klingon throws his arms around Dax and shouts "Curzon, my beloved old friend!"

Dax returns the hug and says "I'm Jadzia now."

The Klingon grabs her shoulders, smiles, and says "Jadzia, my beloved old friend!"

Star Trek figured this out thirty years ago. It's not hard. Even an old, drunk Klingon got it.

Far too many people gave Jay Bhattacharya the benefit of the doubt (e.g., former Brown SPH dean Ashish Jha) or vigorously promoted him (e.g., Princeton political scientists Frances Lee and Steven Macedo). Forgivable lapse in judgment? More likely: shared affinities and values, which is far worse.

I don't think people fully appreciate how apocalyptic things are for US science. I haven't had any new funding since 2024, but I'm still ok since typical grants are for three years. This means next year I will be completely out of funding and will have to fire everyone in the lab. It's not great.
