A note about one piece though, I really struggled to get into the anime, but love the live action show. Sometimes changing mediums allows people to enjoy stories/characters they wouldn't have otherwise.

It depends, sometimes I feel like a show I loved could really shine in a live action setting, and at the very least it could use an update or second chance via adaptation. I can say personally I'm excited gundam is getting another live action movie, even if it's just cool to see big robot.
