My piece on the risk of statelessness from the birthright citizenship executive order that is ever more present following the Supreme Court's Decision in Trump v. CASA. I also explain how in light of DHS v. DVD, stateless persons are at increased risk of removal to third countries.

Purple Heart Army veteran self-deports after nearly 50 years in the U.S. Sae Joon Park left for South Korea on Monday. His removal order was the result of drug possession and bail jumping charges from over 15 years ago — offenses that, he said, stemmed from untreated PTSD.

Please read this moving and beautifully written story by NPR's Juliana Kim about our client, a deported Purple Heart veteran.

Staff attorneys outside of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building and US Courthouse after finishing a hearing and winning asylum for a client!

Staff attorneys outside of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building and US Courthouse after finishing a hearing and winning asylum for a client!

So proud of my brilliant and hardworking staff attorneys, both badass Lawtinas, who won asylum for our client in Imm Ct today! Case involved gender based violence. Our client is now free to marry the person she loves and exercise control over her body. Classic & hopefully enduring American story.

🎉"Global Company Towns" is out! I have loved writing this piece, which traces a particular form of corporate power from the Industrial Revolution to the "global factory" revolution, from West to East to around the world. 1/x
