I admit this is both what I needed to hear but also I’m worried we still only have phase one

And people say Apple devices aren’t great for gaming
I think one of the strangest things about living in Tokyo is I live in a dense enough spot my local mall at any weekend is pretty likely to have a c to b tier idol group just be performing in the center.
March 28th - Day Of the Tentacle Remastered
Honestly, this has sat in my backlog for so long because I thought I liked point and clicks but really just like Loom. DoT was a lot more fun with a guide than previous attempts, although I felt like most of the puzzles were good in hindsight jokes.
This is really just finishing with as opposed to starting and finishing
March 21st and 22nd
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and Rogue.
Neither were great but they were pleasant and interesting. Rogue I ended up watching most of instead of actually finishing.

Final Fantasy IV (PSP) - is a special game that really tries to use every part of its rpg systems in its story and I think few games have topped it in that regard and it’s nice to have finally gotten past the moon.
I’m ready for dlss 5!
That is good to know!
And my 12 gb model was faulty so it’s getting swapped but now I’m worried if they’ll even be able to!
I think my next commute and break game will have to be radiant historia. Which I have bought 2 times and barely played either version of.
I have finished 4 snes era RPGs this year. Not always the snes version but snes RPGs nonetheless.
Good year.

Super Mario RPG Switch - Honestly about half way through I wondered why I was bothering but then something happened that made me appreciate something as simple as this. Good use of 3000 yen in the end.
I really appreciate how much persona 3/4/5 use the monkey island approach of “a dialog choice is a chance to tell 3-4 jokes”

Finished writing about G.O.D. Honestly, quite challenging to write about a game that is all about delightful surprise. But I really enjoyed this messy SNES JRPG.
In persona 3 reload I have used Marin Karin twice and believe I have used up my lifetime supply of luck today based on my persona 3 fes experience.
And the fan tl came out this January so it’s still hot and fresh.
The psp version. Which is considered the very best version of tales of phantasia. And having played snes and ps1 versions before I have to agree.
Well I just finished Tales of Phantasia X with the lifebottle translation and it was a great wonderful time of time travel, 90s anime romance shenanigans, 60fps combat and a charming story of protagonists literally ignoring the fact the villain might have motivations and that being a plot point.

Clockwork Aquario - a fun arcade romp. Although I died to the final box when they had one hit left in my second run. But third time was a charm.

Tales of Phantasia X - The original phantasia got me to learn so much about emulation and fan translations, I played the ps1 game in Japanese and it’s nice to see the fan tl with real nice qol improvements just make this excellent version something for everyone.
haven't made a step sound yet so i'm using a clip of alucard saying "What?!" from castlevania symphony of the night with randomized pitch as a placeholder.

Diablo 2 Resurrected - I was honestly surprised how much I got into this after many failed attempts. And surprised how much my play changed over the game despite also my build being just press lightning. I now see why everyone feels nothing matches it even though i still prefer 1.

G.O.D Heed the Call to awaken - a delightfully weird globe trotting jrpg with legally distinct Guile. So many delightful twists and turns and the game just enjoys being a game. Even if I needed an easy mode patch for it.
I don't typically put much thought into chain scoring or scoring in beat 'em ups at all, but this one got me hooked on trying to go higher! And it's a free browser game! From the creator of Fight'N Rage.
Really impressive PICO-8 graphics, too!

Have a better next month ok!
Then again, I really am just writing for myself and hoping others might enjoy it. So at that point, does it even matter? Why do video then at all?
Not really sure what this is, just screaming into the void I guess.
That leaves writing and video. I feel torn because I watch a lot more than I read, so edge towards video, but honestly, when I try to do video I just find it overwhelming. Writing brings me a lot more joy. But feels like an increasingly narrow audience for stuff.
Now I'm in a better place but honestly having been off playing to a schedule I don't think I want to go into something that would force a kind of schedule like that. So podcasting might be a bit out since that requires at least coordinating with someone.
I'm sort of torn on content creation right now. I really want to get back to it. I loved podcasting with Plat and Pit but my current job made keeping that up too challenging.
January 29th - Pretty Sailor Sailor Moon (Arcade)
This is a pretty classic beat em up. A pretty mean one honestly, with a final boss that was pretty bad. But it was fun to mess around with the extremely easy infinites you can do that make positioning the entire game.
