A Murder of Crows at Dawn
One night, while writing a drinking scene and listening to German marching music to set the mood, I drank Oybin Bitter Schnaps with my characters. It became a late night.

When writing, are you protecting your character? Let them come to harm, let them suffer—not only externally, but in ways that disrupt, push against their values. Disturb their internal world.

When editing . . .
She was cold.
Instead of telling us, let the reader see it.
She reached for her sweater, the one her mum had made for her.
When you replace tel with behaviour, the reader feels the moment instead of being informed about it.
New Brunswick, NJ just canceled plans for a colossal AI data center after massive pushback from the community.
That's a huge win for people power.
AI data centers are sucking up communities’ utilities AND draining state resources — while enriching Big Tech CEOs.
I have no idea who this person is, but why not ask AI for ideas? Maybe the real film is about how a lazy mind erodes creativity, intelligence, and free thought. Here’s the pitch: What happens to imagination when we trade effort for convenience?
