Stop stonewalling, Sherry and @forbes.com!!! Many in the newsroom have gone YEARS without a raise, while Sherry proposes a 1.5% annual increase, not even close to the inflation rate!!!

At bargaining this month, the @forbes.com management team was in full refusal mode, coming to the table with exactly nothing when the union arrived ready to negotiate with six counters.

Our fearless colleagues braved the snowstorm last weekend to visit the hometown of @forbes.com CEO Sherry Phillips and spread the news that she is a union buster who continues to deny our members a fair contract. 👎

What makes all this worse is @forbes.com’s shrinking staff. Our union has fallen to 80 members as of September 2025, down more than 25% from 108 members in August 2023 and still well below the 93 members in 2021. Why is it shrinking? Stagnant pay doesn’t help. #journalism #journalismstudents

There’s also a persistent gender pay gap. Women earn $7,754 less on average than men (a slight improvement from the $11,280 gap that existed in 2023) and have a median salary that’s $4,480 lower.

Big takeaway from our 3rd annual pay study: Racial pay gaps at @forbes.com have worsened. White employees average $95,089, compared with $87,500 for Asian, $74,557 for Hispanic or Latino, and $71,438 for Black employees.

We handed out this flyer at the 2025 @forbes.com Power Women’s Summit today to bring awareness to the blatant hypocrisy of this event. We want Forbes CEO Sherry Phillips to answer why this event is happening when Forbes has a well-documented history of pay inequity. #journalismjobs

Our 2024 pay study also found a large racial pay gap, with the unit’s white members making nearly $24,000 more, on average, than their black colleagues. That kind of disparity doesn’t just happen by accident.

Let's talk about our diminished newsroom. Amid an exodus of talented newsroom staff for greener pastures, Forbes hired only 4 full-time #employees in all of 2024. During the same year, Forbes hired 49 (!!) temps.
