I hadn't heard this before, but will definitely keep it in mind. It's good advice and I trust its source.

#3 are freaking out over social security, are scared for a transgender child, or whatever, and you want to have your voice heard in that way, email...

#2They're especially powerful if they focus on personal stories about how gov't actions are affecting you. Include your contact information and so forth.
So if you're personally impacted by gov't cuts, have a family member who is a fed employee ...

#1 My daughter's friend works for a senator. She said that phone calls are great for aggregate opinions and gauging popularity of something such as: Vote this way, or oppose this nominee.
While emails that are aggregates aren't effective, personal emails are.
