I never said slop was fine. I hate Gen AI. It’s trash. If any publisher I worked with openly supported Gen AI I’d openly have a massive issue with it, regardless of money.
My point is that The Broken Binding aren’t the publisher of this book 🙈 if you read further into any of this you’d know that

Fucking hell. This is a company that actively hires hundreds of artists and tries to do good things for creatives. What is it about people and trying to tear down people that support them?
There are so many companies doing the opposite. Go after them 🤷♂️
People like you are exhausting as fuck.
Read further than the first post.
And then read the reaction comments where people are assuming The Broken Binding hired the AI dude due to the way this has been framed.
This is tiring. I’m out.
No worries!
They posted about it to support the author. They were trying to do something positive.
Pointing out something is AI (I’m massively anti AI) isn’t a problem at all! The problem is giving no context. And posting further to imply The Broken Binding hired the AI dude, which they didn’t
Read more than their first post. It talks about the artist “They hired” and carries on until corrected.
The author says it in the same thread.
And the publisher, who is not the publisher of this book, commissions literally scores of artworks every single month from a multitude of human artists. They have been vocally anti AI a hundred times over.
Of course, we agree there. But my initial point wasn’t about that. It was about doing a bit of a check first before implying that The Broken Binding was the publisher when they weren’t. Because that can cause irreparable damage to a reputation.
In trying to support an author, yes. And without knowing there was any AI.
They also pay hundreds of thousands every year to real artists for cover and interior commissions, and do everything they can to support creatives in the publishing industry.
What’s your point?
But with that, it’s also worth looking into things before posting with things like these. Because there will be plenty of people who won’t read further down, think TBB uses AI, and start talking shit.
Later clarification is never as effective as immediate clarity.
I just want to note (as I think you’ve already found out) TBB is not the publisher here and didn’t choose the cover. They’re just doing a reveal.
But also, the author, Scott, is a lovely guy and I don’t think this was intentional at all. It’s a shit situation all round.

The ODAL @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social goes on sale in early March. I’m in love with the cover by Nemo Art 🧡
Here. We. Go.
I've found some amazing friends in the book community in the last 4 years, and @zackargyle.com is one of them. What a lovely gift for little Ella 💜
Oh this fucking rocks
I mean, come March I'll have written and published 1.5 million words in 4 years... I don't think I can really increase that pace 😅
With her sword hand in full grip, little baby Ella Cahill arrived into the world to start her journey on the 10th of January.
Our world could not be fuller, and we could not be more in love. No cuter way for our lives to change ❤️
Both baby and mam are doing great!
I revealed this Tarot Card as part of my yearly wrap up, but I never did an actual reveal on socials!

With Of Empires and Dust finished, that makes 1.5 million words – 4 novels, 3 novellas, 2 short stories – written across 3.5 years.
I've only been writing for 3.5 years and that blows my mind because it's my whole life now. 4 years ago I was working in a lab 🤷🏻♂️
And Book Four is done.
I full on cried.
👀
I don't think that's how my brain works 😅 it will be 1.4 million published words in a few months and that inner critic always jumps up. I figure it as part of the process 🤷🏻♂️
The craft of writing is a fickle thing.
Some days I think 'damn, this is the best work I've ever produced '.
Other days I think 'what if everyone hates this book and it derails my career'.
It's an emotional rollercoaster 😅
There are a few things riiiiight at the end that have slowed down production and we want to make sure everything is in place before we put it up for sale 🙌
Oh, I wasn't actually asking! that was meant to be someone asking the Tau battlesuit pilot... Really should have made that clear 😅
Of course – thank *you*! Tau are a perfect choice for this as well.
Are you a man or a women?
I am Fire Caste 🤷🏻♂️
The purples and yellows on that battlesuit are so fucking clean. Gorgeous work 💜
Sorry WHAT?
That's really fucking cool.

Just wanted to wish you all a happy December from the Christmas Wolfpine. Wherever you are in the world, I hope it's a happy time 💜
With a bit of luck and a lot of work, I'll have Of Empires and Dust finished very soon... Then I might sleep.
You're all the best.

It's so nice to see these ARCs going out for a book released back in 2021. The people of BlueSky never saw 'ARCgate' on twitter, but it's lovely to have these ARCs going to passionate the readers 🧡
There's no shame. We all move at our own pace. There are quite a few people I know who laugh at my wordcounts 😅
