A harp made of dark wood with 22 brass strings and a head in the shape of a bird.
Taranis is a 22-string harp with a full, dark sound. He was made by William MacDonald in 2016 from wind-felled oak in the Isle of Skye. He is the only harp of his kind, and I’m so happy he is coming home with me to Scotland.
A Quick word from The Author
Hiya, my loyal followers (all two of you!) Gwen Enchanted forreal here. I've been ill, so I've been taking some time off blogging, but we're heading in to that Month of Madness, so get ready for news of Trick Or Treat Lane, Awenia's Changing Landscape, Friðrós' magical…
FINALLY.
Spaces in the Narrative
From Lira: Now, you may be wondering how I found my way back home. I know I would be. Just wishing I could go home did not help at all. Instead, after a brief lecture from Morti (remember Morti? Morti the mare!) about when and where spaces in the narrative (I am not…

A Dream Within a Dream
From Lira: Malaclypse is a made-up name. It was made up by this guy who wrote a book called Principia Discordia. It was the pen name he used. For some reason, he thought it would be fun to invent a religion, and then he made his way into some pop cultures in some Realms and…
Swings, Roundabouts, and an Unbreakable NDA
From Gwyneth: Let me be clear: My Prince Consort is a genius beyond compare. Not only is he the love of my life and the light of my eyes, he is a formidable warrior when armed with an abacus, and, more recently, a duly licensed copy of Microsoft Office.…
The Life of an Awenian Expatriate
From Cherish Gelato: As you know, Dear Readers, I have been away for some time! But nothing stops your intrepid editor from learning the real truth and sharing it with you, my loyal and supportive supporters. I first learned of today's subject, Lira, through some…
I Had a Dream
From Lira: You may not be aware of this, but Chimerical Librarians (and I would assume other Chimerical creatures) are not meant to dream. In fact, there is debate as to whether we need sleep at all. I like sleep, and so I do sleep, but there is in fact an entire Chimerical rabbit…
My friend Jack makes the best jewellery! I have one of their pieces and am just pacing myself because one day I will have more! They are worth a look and a follow.

Large blue banner hanging inside a multi-level building reads “ignite minds, not books” in white bold text. The sign is curved around a central column beneath a high ceiling with a grid of fluorescent lights.
Working on my novel in one of my fave creative spaces: the Toronto Reference Library.
I have worked on many #KidLit sketches and mss here, plus included this library in my book #IWantToReadALLtheBooks.
Esp love the banner they have hanging in atrium right now! #BannedBooks #Freadom #LibrarySky
I miss you and have been meaning to get in touch. But don't date me either!
The Only Constant
From Fridros: It's Change. That's the only constant. My pabbi used to say that, and I'm pretty sure he got it from his pabbi. And since you can find it or some permutation of it, I can feel confident they did not invent it but got it from others, as well. I've been thinking a lot…
Short Stories: The Trials of Teendom
By Blossom Peasley and Veronica Gumm Blossom: My mum is a seamstress. And she works for Veronica's mum. Veronica is so cool; she's the coolest girl I have ever met, and I would do anything to be her friend. But faeries don't go to the same schools as human kids…
Everything goes with Purple!
From Lira: Today is the Summer Solstice, so I headed over to the Midsummer Enchantment shopping faire. It's always beautiful, and I love summer. There were some gorgeous things to see, and, of course, buy! Right from the start, I felt more beautiful. I ran into the…
Love and Strangers, Night and Day, Shine and Rain
From Friðrós: I caught Wulfrich singing the other day. I guess I hadn't thought that he'd have a great singing voice, but he kind of does. It was kind of a furry voice, I guess? Like the sort of voice a bear or a wolf would have if they could sing…
The Story
From Lira: I've never lived in a house with a name before. But after TAC explained that in fact I was not qualified to be a secret dragon agent (I disagree), and after we determined I did not want to go back to Awenia just yet (because I said I'd rather not), she offered me a job and a…
Do any of my friends have resources on particularly Scottish folk horror?
Arcadia is what I’d call over-spun, and it rolls up to such an extent I probably won’t buy it again.
There was little wear on the leg and foot, and each heel took about an hour to reknit.
The yellow and green socks are a pattern called Indiana Jones which is in a Charlene Schurch book, and the yarn is Sheepjes Arcadia.
Note: the rainbow socks are made with an old Trekking colour way that isn’t available any more, so rather than reknitting the socks altogether (the heels were more hole than heel!) I just picked up stitches around the short row heel and reknitted in Sheepjes Arcadia grey.
Two pairs of socks! One is a green and yellow tweed, and the other is a rainbow stripe with newly mended grey heels.
New socks on the go! A brown heather is paired with a green-to-rose long stripe, positioned over an apple Magic Keyboard.
Completed yellow & green tweedy sox, plus finished mending heels on rainbow sox yesterday! Because I always have to have Sox on the go, I started the Knitty Peerie Plaid Sox yesterday since I now seem to be obsessed with small slip stitch colour patterns. The wool for the new ones is Drops Fabel.
Collage of multiple knitting projects, including a sock having a heel replaced, a shawl, scarves in progress, and a lace shawl on blocking pins.
Recent knitting shenanigans.
I’m still not OK, and we’re coming up on two years. It was the disingenuousness of it all, really, that broke me first. And then, it was the people who said they were my friend just ghosting me as if I’d never been. I’m still not OK.
Four crows are pictured in different poses on a white background. the effect is of a block printing. There is a geometrical border consisting on triangles bordered by angular lines, and the white background includes various depictions of flowers.
