Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon wouldn’t do any “climate change crap.” It’s still fortifying bases against rising seas and stronger storms.

Europe v the US? There is much talk of a possible collapse of Nato but other big stuff in a gathering transatlantic civil war is invisible – or little noticed. France took a strategic step last week towards reducing its dependence on American tech giants. 1/

"We want to make a country where no one is persecuted because they think differently or because someone loves in a different way to others."
He may not have campaigned as a liberal. But this is a huge change of direction and rhetoric from Orbán’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade.

A Warsaw-based think tank monitored 114 accounts over three months, documenting eliminationist anti-Ukrainian rhetoric, the use of the French flag to promote Russian messaging, and calls for Polexit – amplified by the platform’s own recommendation tools.

My last estimates were before the May 2025 summit, so they didn't include the energy agreements (which add a about 0.1%) or a time-limited, capped youth mobility scheme (I went for 50,000 places, limited to 2 years - low - and 4 years - high estimate).
