After we designed 175 unique abilities for Beast Breaker, someone had to create 175 ICONS!
@stopboorider.bsky.social not only made them look awesome, he designed a whole visual vocabulary: Framing & directionality communicates component slot. Background colors/patterns = gameplay properties.

The proliferation of this quote is so interesting to me. It's often posted by right wing chuds who use it to defend conventional aesthetic ideas — such as the importance of having a lean, athletic body — but they don't really understand Owens's work.

Go to figure drawing it's fun. Also one of the models wore cat ears and a tail and that made my entire night
The problem solving of trying to get it down as quick as possible and trying to translate this body I see in front of me into drawing is just very thrilling, especially in a room full of other people trying to do the same. AND I love wandering around and comparing everyone's different perspectives
Also like, the perspective is more fish eyed than I thought my visual perspective would be?? Tilting my head can change how the model looks?? And the free to attend places I've been going do not have the most helpful lighting for figure drawing lmao. But I love it so much actually.
At first I was struggling a lot BC well. Translating 3d to 2d is not a step you gotta do so much when it's already on a 2d screen. I'm still struggling with figuring out how to make sure I am sizing down enough to fit entire pose on the page. My vision doesn't export into a rectangle!
For the past six months I've been, for the first time in my entire life, going to live figure drawing sessions. Holy heckie this is so fun???? Much more fun than quick drawing poses of people on computer screen.

Genuinely I was inspired to the moon the moment I read "Ricochete" and if I was going to fight for any nonsense in particular to make it into the game it was going to be this. I'm delighted that everyone agreed about how important it was tho, no fighting needed.

This art features 100 bees of various colors and shapes. These bees are designed in a cartoonish style, based on real species. The common name or species is written below the animals. Some bees are moving leaves, scraping plant hair, or sticking out their tongues. Some male bees have hairy faces and unusually shaped legs. There are also baby bees that have just hatched from their petal nests. Cute and colorful atmosphere. There are over 20,000 species of bees, so I only depicted a very small fraction of them!

I loved working on this game, and the people at Video will always have a special place in my heart.
