An old idea, and a great one. Tacoma, Washington, ran off a US Navy aircraft carrier anchored in Commencement Bay for a significant period in the early 20th century. I don't remember why that was necessary, but I do remember the data point. This is a useful technology we should remember.

I click on "Scottish independence" in the Trending suggestions, and get a long timeline of posts about every nation but Scotland. Half of them about Viktor Bloody Orban. I try not to be paranoid about social media, but WTBF.
And also a basic lack of common sense. It's like saying, "I prefer not to have any seasonings in my food." I doubt that.
The meaning of this sign changes rather radically depending on where exactly it's been posted.
I'm told that chimpanzees raised by their own kind don't hug, so the petting and hugging behaviour we're seeing here with the dog was probably learned from humans in this one's circle. (I don't know that's true, just based on what I've heard.)
Funny how we generally have to leave the planet to attain this. (I'm old enough to remember Apollo-Soyuz. First joint space programme.)

While agreeing with everything OP said here, I think we've got an even stronger case in the fact that the captain of this ship is clearly insane. Our inability to remove a medically-unfit commander-in-chief is airtight proof that our system is non-functioning.

Good analogy, with one caveat: OK, Lucy was a narcissist, but she wasn't plotting the end of civil rights. If she'd said, "I'll let you kick the football if you don't tell anyone I'm bringing back Jim Crow," and then Charlie Brown ended up on his back again, that would be a more precise metaphor.
At base, the problem is what they were willing to wager to get all the other MAGA goals. So while I'm not unsympathetic, I'm not _very_ sympathetic. There's a certain schadenfreude in seeing them shoot themselves in the backside with the same weapon they picked up to shoot others.
