Andee Clancy on Substack It snowed this week on the Panhandle and all this bright white is blinding. It’s beautiful, it’s mesmerizing as it falls & it’s unprecedented. Bay County came to a full stop on life. Vehicles were not allowed on the roads. That meant zero mail, deliveries or heaven forbid, DoorDash. I took full advantage of the quiet as I pushed the paltry shovel into the snow and watched it fall as glittery powder in a sunny spot. A majestic neighborhood Kestrel showed up to keep me company. He perched at the top of my leafless maple, lording over his white kingdom. His hunt couldn’t be easier. The snow will disappear in a week or so. All that will remain are memories of a snowball fight between two silver haired lovers who never stopped playing. Aged yet Cherub faced, we weathered Enzo like two adolescents without a care in the world. It was a nice bubble while it lasted.
