I also really wonder what they put in the water in Utrecht, because holy hell there’s a lot of killer stuff that comes out of that scene!

I’ve been meaning to do an album run, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I sort of checked out around that same time. But Aussie friends have told me that they stayed awesome all the way through

I am a huge fan of Diesel and Dust, but all of these early albums are unbelievably good, both in terms of their critical perspective and in terms of the atmosphere they produce and the songwriting

So, maybe, it’s part of a desire not to show up in a specific way…unless I’m wearing a specific band shirt, for example, that signifies a kind of identity. This is all murky in my thinking though, so maybe that’s not even coherent

I’ve been having the overwhelming urge to shave off all of my hair. It was shaved in 2020, but it’s been growing out since. I can’t decide if I’m looking to change how I show up, or if I’m trying to catch up with a felt change in my identity (a weird thought for the day)

I haven’t watched this in years. But I threw it on tonight and, yes, dear friends, it still goes hard…

Because we all need to be doing and saying more, especially in the hardcore community. I need for you to understand that none of us came to this scene because we were normal or well-adjusted or even happy. We came to this scene because we felt marginalized by the outside world, ill-equipped for a conventional life, and most likely, very pissed off. We settled into this community because it was a relief to find other fucked-up people who wanted to be good to each other and do great things together. The hardcore scene is, in fact, a lifeline. But it's not therapy. It's not professional help when you need it. It's just not enough.
