My predecessor created their own CDN...
This was a sub-domain ('cdn') serving static content from the same web server (singular, not plural), on the same public IP as the app.
It was delivering content, and it was on a network, but, that definition was more stretched than prolapsedkermit.gif 🙃

I'm an 80s child and friend's of parents were "Auntie [name]" and "Uncle [name]".
I wonder if there's any geographical correlation between "Mr"/"Mrs" and "Auntie"/"Uncle"? 🤔
I work at GitHub and use Actions every day. I've also debugged YAML at 2am and pushed way too many commits just to fix a conditional. Here's what I wish someone had told me on day one. mainbranch.dev/articles/git...
This is a big deal. Already seeing evidence of this by way of OpenClaw installations.

On her birthday, we remember the amazingly talented Borg Queen herself, Annie Wersching. For you, Resistance was NEVER Futile.
This sits in my head alongside "'No' is a complete sentence" 👍
an IG post from “natemorebikes” that is a comic with 4 panels panel 1: a poorly drawn person saying “penis on my butt” panel 2: same person says “please do not pee inside there” panel 3: same person says “pee is for toilets” panel 4: two people at a table tell the person “you have single-handedly ruined an art form.” in the background is a sign that says “haiku competition”
i saw this last night and cannot stop laughing at it
And still the feature work continues, but I'm squeeeeezing in migration of more and more of it to #TypeScript along with some strategic refactoring.
With a little bit of luck this'll all make the eventual migration to #Angular that little bit easier to achieve.
Onwards 👍
Sleeping through is the best recovery feeling. I fell on ice in Jan, landed hard with my arm under me and was waking in pain at 4am needing more tablets for quite a while, the 1st time I slept through was 🎉. I'm glad she's having the same and is on the mend. Sitting pretty, go Luna! 😊
So, this latest episode of STARFLEET ACADEMY … was wonderful. Lovely writing, great performances, beautiful design and lighting, splendid use of black-and-white cinematography. Pure Star Trek soul, through and through. And that performance by Robert Picardo was heartbreaking and perfect. Bravo.
I found this to be an interesting read from someone in the audience.

So I carved off a lean chunk of the steak before cooking it,
And made sure to set it on the edge of my plate, after I was done.
And then to look the other way. To let her steal it.
I got her her favorite thing, for her birthday -
Crime.
Each show is a product of the time and the industry it was made in. TOS looks like it does because it was a 1960s production, with 60s production design and a 60s budget. Expecting new shows to look and feel like TOS is like arguing for new James Bond films to never deviate from GOLDFINGER.
Hats off to the author, wrangling all the people involved across multiple orgs to pull this off is something I can't even begin to contemplate the complexity of 🥵

This whole thread is awesome. 🖖
There's something about this design, specifically in the view from the aft/starboard in the first image that makes me think of a T-Rex.
I either need more coffee, or I've not had enough yet today. 🤷
And follow their advice, drop a review on Rotten Tomatoes, I just did...
Ep #4 (how are we nearly half way through the first series already?!?) is a banger and nary a hint of the notional overarching Caleb/mother plot in sight. A much better balance than in other series 👍
Apropos this...
The first two episodes of #StarfleetAcademy were excellent. Perfect? No. Enjoyable and leaving me looking forward to *checks what day of the week it is* tomorrow when the next episode drops, why yes, absolutely!
Why are series only 10 episodes now? 😔
Some of the best meals I've *ever* eaten have been aesthetically questionable, but that looks delicious. The little crunchy corners of the samosa are making me salivate 😂
The only partly digested thing around here is that muppets social skills 🤷
#StarfleetAcademy is exemplar of this; take the premise of episode 2 and pretty much any of the crews we know and you've got an episode of that series (and a good one at that!).
Recognisably Star Trek and the "gateway drug" for the next generation (sorry, not sorry) of franchise fans.
A certain generation of Trekkies would be much happier if they accepted the fact that not every piece of media in a sixty year old franchise is going to necessarily appeal to them. You are no longer the target audience, it happens to all of us.
I blog my annual income sources to help give other writers an idea what works and what doesn't.
These posts often get discussed on writers' forums. Folks who don't make money argue endlessly about what I do, claim I'm lying, etc.
Except this year.
I suspect it's the PS. 🤣

Oh 100%! There's nothing quite like reminding yourself that the "idiot that made this stupid design decision" was past you 😳
This app is 95% my predecessors doing so every bit I modernise or otherwise clean-up is an exploration of the fever-dream that was his tenure. *So* glad I never met him! 😂
Slowly but surely getting there with this mess of a product..!
Bumped it to the latest version of AngularJS (yes, I know, still horridly out-dated and un-supported) and jQuery, and moved some existing code to TypeScript.
Next: Finish the current feature work then start on migrating it to Angular ✅

It's 5am here and now I want pizza after reading this thread 😂
"what we've learned over the course of this year, especially from a consumer perspective, is they're not buying based on AI," (from www.pcgamer.com/hardware/del...)
There's more truth to this than the industry realises, or perhaps is willing to acknowledge. Will that actually change? 🤔
Whenever one of these pops up in my timeline I end up being surprised by the quality of the render *and* the quality of the composition/storytelling.
I almost certainly wouldn't blink if this was part of a commercially produced episode.
This also applies to almost any commentary about upcoming new Star Trek shows.
Christ on a trike, it's not the 90s anymore. Of course it's not going to be just like TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT 🙄
I hate how much I enjoyed this
BIG NERD DESIGN ENERGY 🫦
I stretched #TheWarBetweenTheLandAndTheSea over two nights, and,.. It. Is. Good. Well worth watching as even my non-SciFi fan other half was hooked.
I'm now left impatiently waiting for Sunday to arrive for the next episode.
