im guilty of this too and its something im working on

one of the downsides of games being a conceptually very complicated medium is that i think it becomes difficult for people to fully grasp the scale and all the interlocking parts to the point where game discussion never really evolves past the surface level stuff

Gaming should never have evolved past this

Why does everything now exist to steal your time and steal your attention span away

anyway remakes suck

this isnt just a games thing, either. theres this simultaneous obsession with the past being better than the present yet the past also always needs to be fixed. art cannot be "fixed"

theres this huge push towards treating games as a genuine art form and not just a toy or passtime but simultaneously the medium is getting more and more commodified and contempt for the medium is being disguised as love. "games are art" and "(game) has aged poorly" cannot coexist

Mary eagerly marches on as she is surrounded by a good handful of her friends Directly below her a Yellow-Branched Bonsly does its best to not be left behind Next to her is a Jigglypuff, surely only with the best intentions with its iconic microphone out Behind them, in a large picture frame, is a shiny Banette, creeping out of it, zipper mouth open wide in a wicked smile Surrounding them are also some Unown, letters M, A, R, and Y! Just behind Mary, on the wall, is the shadowy silhouette in which her name is scribbled over, but can clearly be seen a glowing blue eye and sinister smirk. It is a Zoroark.
