I stand by Paddington in Peru being an immigrant story and I stand by my high rating of it!

Have yet to encounter a Stephen Graham Jones book that hasn’t made me cry. “Being a werewolf isn’t just teeth and claws…it’s inside. It’s how you look at the world. It’s how the world looks back at you.”

IRC, Tech had/has a pretty prominent and impressive gender studies program. This is devastating

There’s also the idea that regardless of the intent of any given art piece, people will make of it what they will. Will choose to see what they want. One outcome is a foundation for anti-fascism and the other is whatever people see when they view it and still end up supporting fascism.

I actually don’t think Andor is as nuanced as it could have been for the messages it tries to convey (one of my critics of aspects of it). It’s more nuanced than some other SW, certainly, but at the end of the day it’s anti-fascism 101. Some people just choose not to see it.

Amidst Censorship, "Andor" Is a Miracle On Wednesday, September 17, ABC and its parent company Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live after threats by the FCC.

Amidst Censorship, "Andor" Is a Miracle. A Disney-owned series that speaks up about fascism and what it takes to fight against it, where head executives at Disney are considering allowing their content to be censored and controlled by the government.

I literally fell to my knees and thanked gods it’s after the Emmys cut off because that means it might not be the last season

I’m also surprised and annoyed there wasn’t a content warning at the beginning. I know lots of people who could have used the warning to prepare themselves and avoid the heavy personal triggers as much as possible.

I also have complicated feelings about that. I keep going back and forth, but I can’t help the automatic feeling I got that went beyond the discomfort I know they intended. At the very least, it will hopefully encourage much needed conversations about the brutal accuracy of that.

The universe said “oh you wanted the rogue one and AOTC bag clips? You can have them but we will take all joy you had for a certain show coming up and rip it out of your very heart.”

I correctly guessed two of those Star Wars poster bag clips last Friday and must have cause a glitch in the matrix because not a single good thing has happened to me since then.

JKR funded the campaign group behind all this btw. This is why we beg you to stop engaging with Harry Potter media.

"The Last of Us" Season 2 Premiere Gets Right to the Point “The Last of Us” season 2 premiere pulls no punches as it catapults audiences into Joel’s and Ellie’s “Future Days.”

“In true Craig Mazin fashion, this series continues to push the boundaries of what a faithful adaptation looks like when its creators allow it to grow on its own.”

To no one’s surprise, Ayo Edebiri is a star. Her and John Malkovich work together so incredibly well, we’re frankly lucky to be able to witness it.

'Opus' Review: No One Is Safe from the Cult of Celebrity There is perhaps no bigger cult than that of celebrity, a topic writer-director Mark Anthony Green explores to mixed results in his feature debut, “Opus.”

Opus, in my opinion, is not nearly as bad as some critics would have you believe. I saw it a few days early and left the screening excited for what director Mark Anthony Green will bring to the table next. My non-spoiler @templeofgeek.bsky.social review: templeofgeek.com/opus-review-...
