Trump: "Millions of American small businesses, including corner stores. What is a corner store? I've never heard that term. I know what a corner store is but I've never heard it described-- a corner store. Who the hell wrote that?"

This was, by far, the best book I’ve read all year. I am going to re-read the ending tonight, IT WAS THAT SATISFYING.

“Of the 369,000 jobs the Labor Department says were created since the start of Trump's second term, nearly all — 348,000 of them — went to women, with only 21,000 going to men.”
That’s pretty astounding.
A McDonald’s where the sign has been reduced to McDo.
There is no McTry.
“The congressional map that Democrats have proposed is, in its ways, even more audacious than those enacted in either Texas or California. They’re asking voters to temporarily set aside a bipartisan redistricting system they approved just six years ago.”
“Audacious” is one word for it…
My feed is full of awful news.
And then, like the butterfly in Pandora’s box, there’s this lovely woman, who is doing something beautiful despite the horror and for the benefit of others.
And her dolls are great!
When I was a kid, my oldest sister Sean was the only one allowed to use the washing machine, so it was her responsibility to wash my clothes. My sisters shared a room (it was bubble gum pink, too) which meant they had their own clothes hamper (we just called it the “dirtyclothes”).
You absolutely should not.
This reminds me of my late buddy, Tom Peake, who said when he was picking classes out at Ga. Tech, he read a sample sentence, “Mein Onkel trinkt Limonade” and decided YES! YES! This is the easy language credit for me!

“Trump also said the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil passes, would ‘open up naturally. It'll just open up naturally.’
That has a certain COVID-response-like ring to it — in 2020, Trump said, ‘like a miracle, it will disappear.’”
As an American, there are always disappointments to register and arguments to engage; amid the chaos of our battered, monied attempt at self-governance, dissent is constant.
But this feeling of being utterly ashamed of America and embarrassed to the core by its president is new, raw and unnerving.

Oh how I adore a good paragraph!
“And today, right here in Corpus Christi, the price of gasoline is down to just less than actually now $2.30. I just left Iowa two weeks ago. $1.99. And then, I passed another one $1.85. It's happening.” - DJT, the night before the War on Iran.
US gas hits $4 per gallon for first time since 2022, with average prices now higher than at any point during Trump's two terms. Follow live updates: https://cnn.it/4ch54v6
