Kind of hypocritical of you all to post this when you’re partnering with Spotify. You know, the company who ran 🧊 ads & has one of the lowest artist pay rates.

Now this is good @bookshop.org news. (Still salty about then partnering with Spotify, though.)
I didn’t say it would encourage ppl to sign up just to use this new feature, but that it would encourage users to stay on Spotify (bc it adds even more utility to the app). Why do you think Spotify added an audiobook feature? To get a return on some of that market & keep users in their ecosystem.
IMHO Bookshop could make its own app to fulfill in-app orders for physical books. Partnering with Spotify encourages people to keep using Spotify and therefore pay a monthly/annual fee to the app. Their CEO also invests in Aye-Eye weapons.
I’m still on hiatus from this platform, but I’m incensed about Bookshop partnering with Spotify and have to spread the word. (See my earlier post.)
ICYMI, @bookshop.org has decided to partner with Spotify. Y’know, the same music streaming service that accepted $$ to run 🧊 ads. For some strange reason, Bookshop seems pretty shy to let readers know about this. Gee, I wonder why.

Thanks for including me!
Yea as a tiny website I don’t know how to mitigate it, nor do I want to devote my precious personal time to figuring it out, either. So I just keep on making sure my new posts have decent SEO. It tends to rebound after a couple months or so.
Yes, I am. I’m missing about 3k views. Google did a Core update earlier this month so I’m assuming that’s mostly to blame. Every time they do one of those my views tank.
I’m taking a break from Bluesky. If you want to keep tabs on my bookish activities you can find me on IG @ alitescape.

My review of the second book in the WINTER SEA trilogy by HM Long!
Anyway, I deleted the post I’m referring to bc that’s not the kind of interaction I’m looking for. There’s always someone who’s gonna turn an innocuous complaint into something personal bc of course they are.
I agree with you 100%. Meanwhile my dumb post about a water damaged book has how much engagement? Absolutely ridiculous. 🙄
And not that Bluesky is just about the blog engagement, so no one put those words in my mouth thx.
Idk just feeling disillusioned by a lot of stuff lately, Bluesky included.
Bluesky makes literally no difference to my blog engagement so idk I might just not even bother with Bluesky as much in the future.
I guess idk how Bluesky works bc all these non-followers are interacting with my last post yet when I post reviews etc it’s like pulling teeth to get any type of interaction from followers or “moots” as the kids used to call them on twitter.
(& let me b*tch, I don’t need an explanation thx)
You’re a good friend! 😂 It’s a weird pattern of water damage, not like something was spilled on it. Idek how it happened, so part of me wonders if my friend didn’t realize it? It’s almost like it was set above something humid…
I’m looking forward to it! I just put my December physical TBR into a pile & The Everlasting is right on top for me to read next. 🙂
Some exciting reads on Celeste's TBR.
Just what you need on cold wintry days! 🥶
Thanks for sharing my post, Phil!

Is GOOD SPIRITS better than LOVELIGHT FARMS by B.K. Borison?
Because I read the latter and thought “fine,” but the former is getting such praise that now I’m curious and kinda want to read it.
Today I'm highlighting my favourite community posts from November! I hope you can visit some of these bloggers & show them some appreciation for their awesome content. 🔥 Happy reading! #BookBlog #BookSky #BookBlogger

Today, I’m getting into the true spirit of Christmas - and that means MURDER, of course - with Alexandra Benedict’s new novel The Christmas Cracker Killer. A group of guests marooned in a luxury hotel. And a killer among them… Lovely! Out now.

I read Brigands and Breadknives by Travis Baldree. To be honest, I was a little disappointed, but not for the reason you might expect. Come see why this might be a perfect book for you despite my tepid reaction.

idk who needs to hear this but the TIDAL family plan is slightly cheaper than the spotify plan! tidal.com/plans/family
Yea, I know, it’s a shame. I’m just irritated today & needed to say it once again. Also finally unfollowed one of the offenders.
