what kind of parent lets their eight-year-old call a pedophile?

Mike Johnson refuses to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva — because her vote could force the House to release the Epstein Files. The GOP is doing everything they can to keep Trump's Epstein cover-up going.
Hey everyone! I’m partnering with @moveon.org @repjasmine.bsky.social and @repyassansari.bsky.social
on an event in Arizona this Sunday to hold Republicans accountable for their corruption. Click the link below to attend. Space is running out!

Wake up people. This is Trump’s personal Gestapo.
11/ The tariffs aren’t economic policy. They are political weapons.
But as long as we see this clearly, we can stop him. Public mobilization is working. Today, a few Republicans joined Democrats to vote against one set of tariffs.
The people still have the power.
10/ And once Trump has the lawyers, colleges and industry under his thumb, it becomes very hard for the opposition to have any viable space to maneuver.
Trump didn’t invent this strategy. It’s the playbook for democratically elected leaders who want to stay in power forever.
9/ The tariffs are DESIGNED to create economic hardship. Why? So that Trump has a straight face rationale for releasing them, business by business or industry by industry.
As he adjusts or grants relief, it’s a win-win: the economy improves and dissent disappears.
Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.
No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.
1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.
Go Cory! You are one of the Dems who is leading this fight!
Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"
If you can, show up Saturday 4/5 for the nationwide protest against Trump and his cohorts--in Washington, your state Capitol, your nearest city or town, or merely on a road. Hold a sign. We must stand together! To protest is a form of fighting! Fight before we no longer have the right to fight.
The Trump administration is intentionally attacking any entity that disagrees with Trump's policies. We and hundreds of civil rights organizations have joined to write an open letter that invites people to take a pledge to defend our rights and freedoms! civilrights.org/2025/03/26/o...
Reminder: Amazon Blackout—starting tomorrow.
Amazon ❌, Whole Foods ❌ off the to-do list!
Hey I will be on @allinwithchris on @MSNBC tonight at 8:25 to talk about the buffet of billionaire/White House corruption that has defined the first 6 weeks of Trump's presidency.
What a weird way to say:
Under Biden… ‘23, ‘24 real GDP growth exceeded expectations
Inflation was tamed without a recession
A record 16.6 million jobs created
A record 21 million new business applications
Lowest avg unemployment of any admin in > 50 years…
But, you be you, Mike…
Listen to the speech re Trump given by the French Senator Claude Malhuret to the French Assembly a few days ago. It sends shudders down the spine of every American and European who loves freedom and makes all decent Americans feel deep shame for our country.

Disgusting. We've succumbed to dictatorship.
Today's NYTImes has a long, disgusting “Let us help you understand” piece on a Jan 6 woman who was at the Capitol, sentence to prison, and pardoned by Trump. Skim is all you need to do, but notice the last line. What's that about? How about a long article on someone who defended the Capitol?
Anyone stumbling on my posts may have seen this, but I'm posting it anyway. The JFK Amherst College address is a species of beautiful, meaningful rhetoric about the arts that we will not hear from the mouth of any Republican politician. Republicans have nothing but contempt for the arts.

Thank you for melding humor and truth to power.
Just started following Jonathan Alter, who ages ago was at Newsweek @jonathanalter.bsky.social
He asks Republicans: Why did you go into politics in the first place? Is it really worth all of the sacrifices in salary and family time to be a powerless rubber stamp for arrogant tech interns?
My review of Betsy Lerner's "Shred Sisters." For anyone from a family with someone who is mentally unstable (i.e., everyone), it's a compelling story.
Here we are: Outrage followed by pausible deniability followed by accusations that we liberals are too touchy, followed by liberals asking if what they saw is really what happened.
Meanwhile, WW2 historians confirm this was a Nazi salute.
The responses to Musk's Nazi salutes, chronologically: outrage; plausible deniability (Musk was simply feeling exuberant; liberals read stuff into everything; finally, liberals now wonder if what they saw is really what they thought they saw.
N.B. WW2 Historians confirm these were Nazi salutes.
