A judge granted them a one-year restraining order giving them the space to finally feel safe and begin healing. Since then they have made meaningful progress and therapy in school but now that protection will expire in May.

They fear repercussions for speaking out. Additional concerns since that restraining order was issued is their father's behavior while going through a nasty divorce. His spouse has a domestic violence restraining order against him as well as his new girlfriend to stop harassing his former wife.

In order to keep them safe, Mom needs a lawyer to file the necessary paperwork in another state. That is why she needs financial assistance at this time.
