Listening to a podcast and I've just heard someone say that Hitchcock's Frenzy is "camp", and I'm at an absolute loss as to how to process that.

In the 90s hair metal gave way to grunge, but in the 80s the way had already been prepared.
a family ending for Alien would be Ripley, Dallas and the cat. There's peace and catharsis for the woman nobody listened to, sure, but she wakes up for 2 more movies of nobody listening to her π
This little gargoyle is definitely reading TOADHEAD.
From the look on his face he's just got to the grave robbing scene.
Absolutely. I've even gone lukewarm concerning his introduction of a queen. It turned the truly alien into something insectoid and instantly more understandable (although that would have been avoided if the egg morphing scene had been kept in Alien).
π¨This is probably going to be an extremely unpopular opinion about Aliens π¨
The problem is not that Alien 3 killed Hicks and Newt, it's that James Cameron tried to fit a happy family ending onto a nihilistic property.
Alien 3 got us back on track.
"I say with utmost respect that this story felt like bold early Stephen King."
I'm bowled over by this review of TOADHEAD

To celebrate the second Friday the 13th of the year, why not get these 13 original horror short stories?
Tell you what, I'll even throw in 4 extra stories.
That's 17 original horror stories!
17 Stories of Death and Desire.
Finished work for the day, wife's on a late shift, so I may brew up some tana leaves and do a marathon of classic Universal Mummy movies.

OMG, I'd love to go there π
It's the 2nd of the month and my book sales have already turned from duck egg to one.
That might be the fastest turnaround of the dreaded start of the month zeroes I've ever had.
To my indie author brethren, especially those who have been hurt by a bad review, here's the Smash Hits review of Billie Jean in 1983. Keep going.
Another webbed thumb up for TOADHEAD
This is Max in a comfy position
Thank you so much!
Book cover of Toadhead by Andrew Lyall. A green cover with the word TOADHEAD at the top and ANDREW LYALL at the bottom. In the middle there is a drawing of a skull with a toad squatting on top of it.
I read Toadhead by @grumpyandrew.bsky.social a couple of months ago and its been lodged in my brain ever since.
I was blown away by Andrew's wonderful prose and the horrific images that it provoked. A perfect slice of horror that's left me wanting more!
Adam Sandler has played Dracula on screen more times than Bela Lugosi.
Thanks dude, I hadn't seen this.
Rewatching Blade Runner and Deckard's tactic really is to keep getting beaten up until something happens π

Happy to report that my wife read and loved Toadhead. Looking forward to getting round to reading it myself soon...
That's great to hear! My sincere thanks to her for giving it a go π
"What if he's not a cop but a relative of one of the victims, and someone anonymously sends him a suspect list?"
My brain earned its keep this morning. Nascent story just made a little progress.
There's a little moment in the latest Fallout episode where Ella Purnell gives a thumbs up and looks like she really is Kyle MacLachlan's daughter.
Another sighting of Toadhead in the wild (this time on FB).
Will 2026 be the year *you* discover what happens when Teddy Doucet wakes up outside a graveyard with a hungry toad on his head?
Tearing myself away from playing Spider-Man 2 to watch World's Strongest Man. It must be Boxing Day.
Thanks man
Playing around with the opening of a potential new story.
Title: KiRaToMu (I won't say what that means just yet).
