Surely Farage's partner and ex wife would have to go back to their safe European countries under Reform's migration policy. #r4today

Better they can get something legally from their dr where proper help to come off drugs is given than allow criminal gangs to make huge profits by exploiting addicts. It's a tough issue; I agree. #r4today

Drug crime: Statistics for England and Wales This briefing paper looks at drug crime prevalence in England and Wales and the criminal justice outcomes for those found guilty of drug offences. It also covers the impacts of drug misuse.

Surely this sort of report strengthens the case for decriminalization of drugs and taking control of supply away from criminal gangs and into approved channels which can be properly supervised and controlled? Reduce crime; improve health too. #r4today commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-bri...

Radio 4 again describing a holiday in the UK as a 'staycation'. Look, I know radio 4 is a middle class bubble, but for many in the UK, including myself when I was young, a holiday in the UK is all they can have, and it can be just as brilliant as going abroad - it's not second best. #bbcpm

I still don't understand why the water data centres use for cooling is reported as lost to the public. It's a bit warmer, but it still exists. Why can't it be used for other things afterwards?

@evanhd.bsky.social Doesn't this aviation fuel shortage highlight stupidity of expanding #heathrow Surely govt shld grasp opportunity to REDUCE flying by taxing cheap holiday flights; encourage us to spend cash at home! No need for new runways. Use revenue to invest in #greeneconomy #bbcpm

Also just wondering how accurate census info is in countries with huge huge populations & "questionable" govt reliability for data?

Murdoch lackey working for a reincarnation of corrupt phone hacking NOTW where Murdoch claimed not to have known what a bunch of crooks were running his paper (breath) claims that the Prime Minister should personally do EVERYTHING that govt does! What hypocrisy & nonsense! #newsnight

Crazy that essentials like energy, clothes, travel to work, living in a house etc are taxed (out of already taxed income) while luxuries like private health care & flying overseas are not. People on negative disposable incomes are forced to BORROW in order to pay tax. #taxluxuries #bbcpm #c4news

75% of cost of driving to work is tax but no fuel duty or VAT on cheap holiday flights! Much cheaper to go overseas for leisure, effectively exporting UK wealth, than spending in UK hospitality! Tax cheap holiday flights properly & don't waste billions expanding #heathrow Invest in UK! #r4today

Justin Webb article on The Times: Beyond the bluster, Trump may be making America normal again
To many in the US, it's the Democrats who are the extremists, not the new president. While his style is to keep 'em guessing, don't ignore the political substance.

It’s hard to take anything he ever says on American politics seriously. He will never be forgiven for writing an article entitled “Trump may be making America normal again.” It was ridiculous the day it was printed, never mind now. #r4today

As hard as he tries, Justin Webb can't find anyone credible who believes Trump has played a blinder over Iran.
He'll keep trying, though.

There’s a hidden industry ripping off HMRC and ordinary taxpayers.

“Advisers” promise big tax refunds. They invent expenses, file bogus claims, and take a cut. When HMRC comes knocking, it’s the taxpayer left with the bill.

A tribunal has just exposed one such firm.
