I think these people usually just hate the idea that the "undeserving poor" are getting free healthcare, often for conditions they think don't exist or are the fault of the patient, like mental health conditions or diseases connected with obesity.

I agree with James's literal words, but I rather suspect we disagree on what's wrong with the NHS (transphobia, misogynoir, ableism, Palantir, PPPs, etc) and what should replace it (an improved publicly-funded and operated health service).
