Ayyyyy! THE chase rare.
That right there? That’s our party’s first dragon kill.
I started learning Japanese this week, beginning with memorizing hiragana.
I think it’s extremely fitting that the first word that I was able to read in Japanese was くらんさろーる or “Crunchyroll”
Congratulations to @emilyjfajardo.bsky.social, @littleramyun.bsky.social and every director who’s tirelessly worked on the One Piece dub over the past 18 years! Being officially caught up is an accomplishment worthy of the utmost praise. And thank you for letting me be a part of it!
Rewatching Breaking Bad for the 4th time and S1E3 has to be one of the best TV episodes ever. It’s some of the darkest material in the show interspersed with its most comedic.
From sopping up fleshy goop to “I thought we were going to Cold Stone Creamery”, it’s an absolute masterpiece.
Made myself get in front of the camera for once.
Most valid reason tbh
Screw it, more Animal Crossing villager pics.
A few more of my favs including little hamster, Clay. His eyes empty, yet filled with murderous intent.
Gf got me back into Animal Crossing after 4 years away. Been really enjoying taking photos of my villagers.
This is incredibly shortsighted considering how audio drama’s only increased in popularity over the past 5 years. Shame.
A Tiger Electronics Deluxe Talkboy, a small handheld cassette tape recorder, which was featured in the 1992 Christmas movie, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Finally got my home studio the way I want it. #voiceover #voiceactor
Not surprised in the slightest.
Voice actors should listen to their own demos on the regular. If it still sounds good, then you’re in a good place. If certain parts make you cringe, then you know it’s time for a new demo.
The upside is, it also means that you’ve grown as a voice actor.
There’s A LOT of supportive folks in the VA community. The problem is, we tend to only remember the negative interactions in life. The one thing that I’ve noticed in ANY field, is that the few that are the most exclusionary are also the most insecure. (Even if they’re stellar at their craft!)

Post the song! I always need more pizza related playlists
That's a much better plan than listening to the last 10 auditions in your outbox hoping to find one that might match
But on the flip side, burgeoning artists in all fields can tell you in vivid detail each moment of joy and encouragement that someone gave them along the way. A sincere smile, a heartfelt thanks, a quiet peptalk, a “hey you’re doing great, keep it up!” And those moments are what drive us all.
All artists in their nascent stages are fragile beings that require care to blossom. A wrong word, a disinterested response, or a less than kind bit of criticism can crush them and make their journey to allow themselves to freely create tenfold harder to navigate than it would have been otherwise.
I need to point out I’m not taking exclusively about VAs. I’ve dealt with it in radio, in photography, in filmmaking, and in dance. I think the initiative lies with the established people in each of those fields to welcome and foster new talent. ESPECIALLY if that person is in a respected position.
I struggle with not taking things personally and I’m working on it, but I remember each and every instance in my career when a smile was met with indifference or a wide-eyed desire to belong was met with hostility. But I ALSO remember the kind ones. And I hold onto them the most.
There's been a trending topic on BirdSite™ the last couple of days about a voice actor who felt big-timed by another more-established VA and it kind of struck a nerve with me. Hell, it struck a nerve with most everyone because we've all had to deal with that kind of crap. Here's my birdthread on it.
I’ve always been hesitant to dish out likes on social media because of an irrational fear of being seen as insincere, but I really want this here social media life raft to make it and will be liking every single post that I even remotely enjoy to dish out as much digital dopamine as possible 👍
For a lot of us, losing Twitter isn’t really about losing ties to the company itself. It’s losing 10+ years of real, asynchronous communities, professional development, the ability to get gigs and clients, the ability to promo/share your art on an extremely broad scale. The loss of that has impact.
BlueSky is BY FAR the best Twitter alternative so far. Hilarious that billion dollar budget FB/Meta couldn’t develop an app that is this usable & intuitive without also shoving corpo advertising down everyone’s throats. The only downside here is the invite link logjam, but I’m sure it’ll clear soon.
Hi, I'm Alfie Coy. I used to be a funny radio guy. Now I'm an entertaining voice actor guy. Also a photographer but let's not tell the algorithm about that just yet.
