Semper Fi hits the table for the first time. I absolutely love the Tactical Combat Series. It generates excellent emergent narrative and rewards realistic tactics. The juice is definitely worth the (considerable) squeeze IMO.

What's the elevator pitch for the game Evan? Brigade level is a bit tricky I think; most of the assets are at Divisional level, and the fighting at Battalion / Battlegroup. So focus on...sustaining?

Do you plan to keep the mechanic where a player can offer another player a random card from their hand as part of negotiation? I never understood that mechanic, game play wise or thematically.

What about any TCS news?

Yeah. It's actually cheaper now to buy retail than p500 (in Europe at least) which makes me wonder about the future of that model... But it means a longer wait. First world problems!!

Id p500d this but then cancelled almost all my p500s due to the new crazy shipping charges. But I can now see I'm now going to have to break the bank and jump back in. It looks too good!

I like this game quite a lot but just can't get it to the table. Wargamers don't want to be playing a coop game, and coop gamers don't want to be playing a wargame. Tant pis.

Just discovered the Tactical Combat Series by MMP (Goose Green, pictured). If you enjoy games with operational planning mechanics, that reward 'actual' infantry tactics based on terrain and positioning, you gotta check it out. So so good. Now to scour BGG marketplace for other games in the system.

Interesting you mention TCS. I have Goose Green on my table at the moment. I like the orders system in it but it's too complicated for practical application I think.
