A price cut? In this economy?

Looks like I’m back in. $30/month was pure insanity.

The 1TB SSD I purchased last year for the full retail price of $140 is now two hundred and eighty goddamned dollars.

I like them both for different reasons, but for the purposes of this list, the 80s remake

Pretty sure it was. I think he talked about his role in 1981's The Burning at some point and said even then it was a wig. Good on him for ditching it though.

Not sure how they grabbed the exact thumbnail to make this Apollo 13 scene look like a Mr. Show sketch.

Aladdin's Castle Pinball (Bally, 1976) | No Cash Value
Aladdin's Castle Pinball (Bally, 1976) | No Cash Value YouTube video by The Oldest Gamer

Starting in the late 1960s, Aladdin’s Castle was a very popular arcade chain that grew to over 450 locations at its peak. In 1976, Bally released a pinball machine called Aladdin’s Castle. I don’t have any footage of the arcade but here’s some of the machine.

I had the same stance before upgrading my TV. Blu-ray is still totally fine for me and I generally don’t upgrade if I already have the Blu, but I’ll go straight to 4K now if I’m just upgrading from DVD.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I recently watched the 4K disc for Backdraft and was really surprised at how much better it looked than the Blu.

Can AI create box art as perfect as the box art for AC Liberation HD on the Xbox 360? I think not.

Yeah as much as I love Dragon’s Lair, I could never get that cab. The original is too iconic.

Rewatched Cloverfield. Still terrific, still efficient. Only 75 minutes. There’s one shot that looks like they’re in a green screen nightmare but other than that it all still looks great.

Picked up all three at my local Costco. Gotta get these kinds of deals whenever they pop up.

Devil’s Dare must be super common in the region you’re in now. I never, ever see it here in the Southeast.

Harry and the Hendersons is probably still worth watching, although until yesterday I would have said the same for The Best of Times…

Ordered the Blu-ray for The Best of Times, rewatched it and… hmm. The rare instance where nostalgia for a thing doesn’t help it hold up. In retrospect I have no idea why I watched it so many times as a kid. It’s very sloppy and doesn’t do a good job telling its story at all. The cast has fun though.

A ★★ review of Blackout (1978) There’s a city-wide blackout in 1970s New York which leads to a whole movie’s worth of looting, raping and murdering. Jim Mitchum is a wandering cop trying to help the people who’ve been looted, raped...

The 1970s excelled at unpleasant movie experiences. Here’s one. boxd.it/dVpGrv
