Gave myself 3 hours lead time last Friday. Between traffic to LAX and getting on a bus to the remote terminal, I was at my gate five minutes before boarding.

Every former employee of Palantir that I've met, including a fellow Unitarian at our congregation, knew what it was all about.
Apropos of a conversation over beers, our civilization is running on plant matter that grew 30 million years ago in the Carboniferous period. Civilization is finite.
White people who have never had to fear anything more than their own mediocrity are having a discussion about existential dread.

This is all true, but tech puts a high barrier to entry, even with junior positions. And there will be fewer positions with AI automation in the near future.
I've used eqcorrscan to do something similar to detect volcano tectonic events, though this example is kinda jacked (I'm not a seismologist or a geologist)

Every satellite is loaded with technology, so it’s only right that our largest satellite gets some new tech on board. A future Artemis mission will install seismometers on the moon to learn more about the internal lunar structure, and monitor how the surface behaves during moonquakes and impacts.
WTF? I drive through Roswell regularly and I have yet to see or eat at this marvel. I need to stop bypassing the center of town.

This *is* the face of DEI. A strong family man who is devoted to his daughters & his country, & who achieves on an incredible level. He's an advocate for inclusive policies because he's building a better world for everyone, & it's up to the rest of us to keep up.
There is a long tradition of technologists doing stupid stuff. Back when we had spinning hard drives, people would put On Mani Padme Hum in a text file as a 7200 rpm prayer wheel.
ugh, it's a virus. Started hearing it in my head
Dan Kaminsky may be gone, but his gift never stops giving.
Dreading a couple of weeks of work travel because I have to fly.
Done! Looking forward to reading it.

The responsibility of senior leadership is to continually foster new leaders to ensure continuity of the organization's goals. Staying until you die is selfish and full of hubris. Just look how fucked the SCOTUS is today. Obama had an opportunity to appoint a judge. This is why we have Barrett.
you are a genius
The horniest Star Trek show has been canceled after its second season. I really hate people.
