Trump’s display of military force was completely disproportionate in a situation LAPD could handle. He wants confrontation. With troops in the streets, peaceful protests will be labeled “lawless riots.” Show up and don’t be intimidated. Dem leaders need to speak out—they’ve been silent as usual.

LAPD totally able to handle any public safety issues. Trump wanted the military spectacle on TV (to distract) and to inflame. Focus on the illegality of disappearing people with no due process. Dem “leaders” should condemn troops on our streets with minimal provocation. Prepare for more of this.

Growing up in Kansas I understand the danger of storms. We relied on the weather service to warn us. Now, the DOGE assault on NOAA and the NWS (including limiting funds for weather balloons) leaves people less informed and less able to protect themselves. Who voted for this?
