Integrity's back on the ground. Glad I was able to tune into the livestream to witness the flyby of the moon and splashdown.

It's nice to feel wonder every once in a while.

One I enjoyed and kinda came and went with little buzz afterward was "Appare-Ranman!".

A wild west car race across America that kind of sits in between Steel Ball Run and Way Out Wacky Races.

Goloma - Ancestries - Archives of Nethys: Pathfinder 2nd Edition Database Though just as capable of being dangerous as any intelligent creature on Golarion, golomas have a deep-rooted psychological understanding that they are prey, and that all two-eyed people are predators...

It really is, but I can't take credit for the underlying creature. It's an existing Pathfinder ancestry, I kind of just gave them a jacket and cloak:

A bipedal creature wearing a tattered cloak with thick fur about the shoulders stands menacingly at the edge of the shadows. Surrounding them are tiny bits of floating metal, and three masses of metal twisting and coalescing into spikes. Their face resembles a mask with 8 red eyes along it. Their mouth is open, revealing sharp fangs, and their hands and feet are visible, ending in large claws.

The same creature stands without the cloak and the metal, looking less threatening. A coarse mane of hair with small red eyespots dotted throughout sprouts from the back of their head and neck. They wear a bulky red scarf and a cropped leather jacket with the sleeves rolled up. A yellow cloth sash around their waist holds up a purple cloth skirt that wraps around their upper legs. They carry a leather satchel and a bedroll over one shoulder, and their forearms and ankles are wrapped in red cloth.

Started the Resident Evil 1 remake. Figure I ought to go back and play, not just watch, through the earlier entries in the series now that I'm done with 9. The only ones I've fully played through are 4 (the original), 8, and 9. Also the start of 5 and 6, and a good chunk of the 4 remake.

Another bird liberated from the fireplace, this one was... a little bigger than the usual tiny brown birds. Looked kind of like a starling, tbh.

(Fourth photo is from the Wikipedia, this one did not want to sit still. They could figure out how to get through the open door, though.)

A photo of a female cardinal through a window in front of a snowy background.

For a couple weeks now, this cardinal's been showing up most mornings to spend some time sitting on a nearby branch and lunging at and pecking the window every couple seconds. At this point, part of me feels rude for not letting her in, especially during this recent cold spell.

Yeahhh... don't think I'll be able to make it to work today.

Had to dig my car out after getting stuck trying to get out of the driveway, and the roads around me have not been plowed.

A nice hero's journey moment for Grace at the end after the credits, too. Returning to the start, having grown and changed from the experience.

Finished Resident Evil Requiem. Solid game, I had a fun time with it. May or may not have chosen the bad ending first and had to go back.

I liked Grace as a new protagonist, and I think it did a good job of balancing her sections with Leon's, giving a fun balance of RE7 and RE4 playstyles.

A screenshot of a roll result in Roll20. The D20 has rolled a natural 20 with bonuses of +6 from the character's ability modifier and +4 from the rolled complication resulting in a combined total of 30.

Last night, a player rolled a natural 20 with a complication, bumping the result up to 30 and granting her an opportunity which let her choose to pass advantage to another party member, but also raising the alert level of the people they were hiding from. It just adds a nice bit of spice to things.

At this point, my group is excited whenever I say "...and let's raise the stakes on this one" when calling for a roll. Even a complication ends up being something to kind of hope for, because while it might make the situation more tricky, the bonus might give you the bump you need to succeed.

I'm finding that I really like the Plot Die mechanic in this system. It helps give certain rolls more weight, can give players a pleasant surprise of unexpected agency in the results of their actions, and provides a good prompt for more interesting results of a roll.

The first panel shows Impact slightly leaned forward and smiling.
Text reads: "You have work that needs to be done. People are being so kind and patient while they wait for you to finish..."
The second panel shows impact zoomed in slightly looking slightly more panicked.
Text reads: "DO NOT SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY PLAYING THE NEW VIDEO GAME."

Really am tired of the people I care about and so many others having to fight for the right to exist.

This is in no way an "other GMs are bad" observation, more a "bringing my consistent bad luck with me into groups" one.

(If you're my current Pathfinder GM reading this, I am looking forward to session 1 whenever we're able to get it going. Apologies for the bad scheduling luck so far.)

It's never been due to drama or anything like that. Mostly just scheduling conflicts, shifts in people's life priorities, and/or losing the momentum to get or keep it going. The people involved are still friends and people I've played TTRPGs with since. It's just a personal trend I've noticed.

It's been a little over a year since the last time I was a player in a game (though I have been running Stormlight as a GM since August, and that's going well so far.)

I got my ration of one (1) full DnD campaign that went all the way to level 20 and wrapped up nicely 5 or 6 years ago, and to balance it out every attempt at a long running campaign I've joined as a player has either failed to get off the ground or fizzled out after a few sessions.
