Today we remember the 146 garment workers who lost their lives in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire on March 25, 1911. Many were young immigrant women working long hours to support their families.

“To be Black in UNITE HERE is to turn invisible labor into indisputable power. We carry the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement onto the picket line, proving that a union contract is a tool for racial and economic justice. As advocates, we lead with the conviction that our work matters; we organize so our voices aren't just heard in the break room but felt in the boardroom. We stand together to demand the dignity and equity we've already earned.” - Brian Rice, Local 24 “I fight because struggle didn't break me - it built me. My story isn't finished, and I intend for it to be powerful.” - Antoine Meeks, Local 24
