Everything about this is so, so wrong. A complete failure of culture and leadership.

Agreed. But, I think it will take more than that. I don't see the imbalance changing unless the underlying incentives of research, publishing, and public policy all change dramatically.
Publisher's can crank out a new program in the same time it takes me to go from conception to recruitment of a fully powered sample.
These are great resources. Unfortunately, the curriculum and intervention publishing cycle is orders of magnitude faster than the research publishing cycle. There's no possible way for the research community to keep up with publisher output.
Yo, @badar-kauffman.bsky.social. You should consider this for 2027. Seriously.
#6 That little bar that tells you how much time remains in your software update is a goddamn liar.
Never. But I have issues.
The one thing missing from this piece is that it contributes to the constant increase in expectations and workload for faculty. That is a fair criticism. Nevertheless, I stand by my position in the article.

#5 The scourge of dress sneakers must be stopped.
I don’t mean the squeaky clean Dunks or Chucks you save for special occasions. I mean oxfords or wing tips with a white rubber sole. They are an abomination.
A truly warm and caring, "I wish I could have been there. I'm so proud of you," from loved ones is more meaningful than watching a livestream.
#4 "We ask ____ (insert number) to pick the best ___ and they all said the same thing" is a complete trash premise for an article.

That’s me anytime someone says idiot, imbecile, moron, or any other term with connection to disability (there’s a lot).
Football is the worst.
American high schools need to find something else to rally around on Friday nights besides a bunch of teenagers giving each other long-term brain damage.
Pie is better than cake.
Yes, but I’d argue that’s true about most terms people commonly use to insult each other.

#3 The shriek of an ironing board opening/closing is a spectacular failure of engineering.

I resolve to spend more time using the internet for its intended purpose: Expressing utter outrage over truly trivial matters.

Sweet Caroline sung in unison at a wedding or sporting event.
Unfortunately, I think most PD is spitting on a fire. These skills need to be seeded in teacher ed programs. Teacher Ed is crowded already, but there are some skills that, if not taught properly, will do real harm in the future.
The 2 things I commonly find are:
1 - Conflation of correlation and causation
2 - Making assumptions that are neither evident in the data nor within their control (e.g., "He gets no support at home.")
Data literacy is a major issue. I've seen a lot of very well-meaning teachers and admins use very slick data systems to make terrible decisions.
Sounds like you’d be a great administrator.
This is exactly what the Rep. supermajority in the OH state legislature has been trying to accomplish. Goal: Make the entire system miserable for everyone involved so no one, not even teachers want to be there. Attack on multiple fronts and degrade public education to the point of extinction.
