Life is too short to eat fake food and live in fake fabric.
It shouldn't be a "luxury". It's health.
I realized that most of my sheets are some kind of polyester blend and that made me so sad.
I now have goose down filled cotton pillows with wonderfully all cotton sheets.
Win.

This is what a rigged system looks like.
This won’t happen, of course, but it should.
When it comes to writing, the process is the purpose. You don’t have to always like or enjoy the process, but if you don’t respect it enough to do it yourself, there is no purpose.
AI will never fill that void.

I'm not sure about you, but I think the collapse of US hegemony, a global price spike and recession, and a new ground war in the Middle East are far worse than drag queens reading books at the library.
A huge win! The Senate voted unanimously early this morning to fund the Department of Homeland Security but without funding for ICE or Border Patrol deportation and enforcement operations.
If you are in Congress & you cannot stand up to the president, you’ve lied to the people who voted for you.
You simply do not belong in Congress.
Sitting quiet in the eye
of my own personal storm.
The day has started calm,
And soon it will be swirled;
A chaotic flurry.
So here's the question.
Should I become overwhelmed?
Or should I embrace and dance?

Senate Majority Leader Thune plans to bring the SAVE America Act up for a vote next week. The measure is expected to fail, but it’s still important to speak up. Please call, message, and reach out to your senators and urge them to vote no.
Sometimes grounding looks like going to your favorite hipster coffee shop and people watching over a delicious matcha latte and avocado toast.
Just being a well fed fly on the wall in a world of chaos
Orange text: "ICE agents don’t get to pick and choose when the First Amendment applies." Orange text: "We have a right to record law enforcement in public." Orange ACLU logo. Black background.
When ICE agents are working, we have a right to film them in public. Period.
Last month, a Pennsylvania farmer rejected $15M from data center developers to sell his farmland.
Another in Wisconsin turned down $80M.
America's farmers and others across the country are pushing back on Big Tech.
This is what integrity looks like.
I think that police should have to take an EMT course as part of their training. Is that a thing? Do they already do that? Because at this point I think that is necessary.
Anyway, I felt the need to sign up for one myself. Super excited, I start my course in two weeks

An ICE agent shot and killed 23-year-old U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas almost an entire year ago and hid the shooting from the public.
It’s only now coming to light, 11 months later, due to Freedom of Information Act requests.
What else is the regime hiding from us?
I, too, am a book snob.
I have no degree, but have read some of the classics and my focus is books in general. And a lot of modern fiction surprises me at being published at all. And sometimes what gets me through a book if how I would write it better. Maybe one day I will
“.. We could spend the whole day reacting to every buffoonish spectacle coming out of the White House, but that's exactly what they want: for us to lose focus …
Don't be distracted by the noise; watch what they are doing to your rights while you stare at the screen.”
last month the US secretly deported nine asylum seekers to cameroon where they’ve been trapped at a local government-owned compound until they agree to return to their home countries where they face persecution and death. none have history of violence.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.
Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.
Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.
It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.
It’s about priorities.
This is concerning, that a rep feels they must post this. A lot in our coalition has felt the same way and worried about it, but didn’t think we’d be here publicly.
What is this human obsession with the financing of destruction??
I wish that same kind of energy and drive was put towards sustainability and creation. Can you imagine how healthy and enjoyable life would be, for everyone?
Republicans are still trying to pass the SAVE Act—a bill that would make it harder to vote and disenfranchise millions of Americans. Join @redistrictingaction.org and tell your member of Congress to vote no: act.redistrictingaction.org/a/natl-saveact-cte
Well, this is terrible news. Leach Botanical Garden just laid off a whole lot of people and they are going to run out of money next month. #pdx

It is terrifying that measles is spreading among children held in US concentration camps.
This is not a policy debate — it is an immediate threat to children’s lives.
Measles can cause encephalitis (brain swelling), brain damage, and respiratory failure in children.
The bill will prohibit public bodies from entering into agreements used to detain individuals for federal civil immigration violations.
The bill will also require the termination of any such existing agreements.

Beware the bone dust
The smoky haze
The smothered scream.
Once hidden in the dark
Behind the door
Beneath the opulent gleam.
Beware the stagnant swamp
Political lies
Deserted body dumps
Now stark in the light
In the yard
Upon the streets.
Beware..Be very aware.
