also I'm not the first person to say this but... viewing Rocky as the "funny animal sidekick" because of the language barrier, when he's repeatedly shown to be every bit as intelligent as Grace, is kind of a massive red flag and potentially betrays real world prejudices... just saying!!!

the idea that it somehow promotes american exceptionalism is a big one for me, along with Rocky being perceived as Grace's "pet" rather than his equal. genuinely *how* can you draw those conclusions from what was being presented?? you literally missed the point of the ENTIRE THING.
not to discredit *every* negative opinion of Project Hail Mary but it's very telling to me that 80% of the criticism I've seen is based on objectively false information or misreadings of the text that are so egregious I can't help but wonder if they even watched the right film/read the right book.
