The Children's Cancer Data Initiative symposium, scheduled for next week at the NCI, has been cancelled because of the shutdown. This is unfortunate. I was looking forward to hearing all the amazing progress made by so many working to leverage data for pediatric cancer research.

We had a big meeting planned in San Francisco for an NIH ARPA-H grant on rare diseases. As soon as I landed from Chicago, I got the cancellation notice! It was so demoralizing. I'd love to chat more and discuss the impact this is having on research.
It is so exciting to be at the NCI today at the BSA committee meeting. While it wasn't "business as usual," it was very heartening to see most everyone excited about a solid future, where we can continue to improve cancer prevention, morbidity, and mortality.
