Aren't you a practicing attorney? If it only costs you filing fees, sue him for $1.

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history

Wet Leg - mangetout - Live at Coachella 2026 YouTube video by Coachella

The guitar is pure Beefheart and the theatrics is Berlin era Bowie.

Check out recent live clips from Wet Leg if you haven't. Major glam vibes.

screencap of a tweet with a photo at the bottom of JD Vance giving a talk, gesturing smugly with his hands

Eric Daugherty • @EricLDaugh • 1h
• JD VANCE RESPONDS TO POPE LEO:
"When the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword - there is more than a THOUSAND year tradition of Just war Theory."

"In the same way that it's important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology."

"And I think that one of these issues here is that there has been - if you're going to opine on matters of theology, you've got to be careful, you've got to make sure it's anchored in the truth, and that's one of the things that I try to do, and it's certainly something I would expect from the clergy, whether they're Catholic or Protestant."

I’ve given this a great deal of thought, trying to come up with the perfect joke for this moment, and this is what I have so far -

POPE LEO: our religion teaches that this war is bad

VANCE: wow, who died and made YOU head of the Catholic Church??

POPE LEO: well, you should know, you were there

NYT headline: Vance Says the Pope Should Be More Careful When Talking About Theology
The vice president, who is Catholic, took issue with Pope Leo XIV’s statement that disciples of Christ are “never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs.”

This is stunning.

That's what screwed Biden. The public never heard about the positive because nobody told him that competence hss to be viral to be rewarded.

Is there more context on that? Women in positions of power who have the audacity to behave like men get for not being sufficiently nurturing.

It's also true that no workplace culture can be a good fit for everyone. I often thrive in high stress environments, likely because of ADHD.

It's weird. I've been getting a new Vanderbilt IM resident as a PCP every three years. When I started going there, a woman who wanted a female PCP had to wait six months or more. Now the residents are mostly women.

Anti-DEI efforts killed all kinds of programs to get men into nursing. It used to be a way to get a good job without a lot if debt.

It means the 20% that literally believe he's protected by divine Providence would become even more dangerous.

We have millions of heavily armed people who think opposing Trump is opposing God's will. I don't want to do anything to further strengthen their convictions.

They want pre-covid Twitter back. Old Twitter was financed by free VC facilitated by QE and low interest rates after the recession. That's a once in a lifetime thing. We're headed for another recession but won't be getting out of it nearly as easily.

I'm an American Linux nerd whose first email account was on a university HP/UX box accessed via telnet. I get the appeal and it's within my technical ability to host my own instance but it's as boring as shit. It's like they reinvented fidonet for a 21st century audience, so none of the weirdness.
