I have had this caudex plant for 2 years and this is the first time it has produced a leaf! In its defense, my daughter got a hold of it when she was almost 2 & broke off the stem at the base. We had to try again and then my son got a hold of it and did the same thing!! Im happy now! #blackplantsky

I recommend a 12” pot with sufficient drainage so you don’t get root rot. The soil I currently use is for tropical plants and contains perlite.

You can trim the aerial roots or leave them alone. Me personally, I just let them do whatever. It definitely needs repotting. I wouldn’t disturb the roots too much though.
