I don't remember precise numbers, but in The Great Gerrymandering TX went from X to X+5 GOP.
The GOP claimed that every GOP seat would be R+10 or better.
At this point the GOP would be happy with 3 seats AFAICT.

“I cannot tell a lie” - George Washington
“I cannot tell the truth” - Donald Trump
“I cannot tell the difference” - Republicans
Someone from the GOP telling me to fuck off would actually be an improvement. I'm 99.99% sure the GOP doesn't know I exist.
Texas voter here. Just confirming that I voted all zero times to oppose the latest version of gerrymandering.
Passing the legislature twice with an election in between and then also passing a referendum is common but on the more difficult end of state constitutional amendment methods.
Just picked up a copy of Blazers' travel itinerary back to Portland. Should be there in plenty of time for Friday night's Game 3.
baseball crank's problem isn't that the process is bad, it is that he doesn't like the result
Here's hoping you're not in the range of the Lone Star Tick.
I'm not prone to suicidal ideation, but that might change if I got Alpha-Gal Syndrome.
BlueSky is the site for National Merit Semifinalists!!!
(90% of semifinalists make it to finalist. I'm one of the ignominious 10%.)

Cernovich is under the impression that John Cornyn has been saved.
Add 200 Ks and that's what Joey Gallo was supposed to be.
These people stub their toe or run out of paper towels and immediately write an OpEd bemoaning the collapse of Western Civilization and demanding that the army drown the streets in the blood of degenerates, it is so profoundly tedious.

Half baked idea: End all geographical boundaries for congressional districts. You’re in a deme now, an association of citizens who collectively elect someone to Congress. Move anywhere, the deme follows. Anyone can make a new deme if they can get enough people to join.
24 hours (and lots of ad hominem attacks against me) later, I just thought I'd post this again.
According the AG Blanche, “The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence.” This is some whacked out far-right fantasy. Hard to imagine this theory will hold up in court, but the lives of paid informants who infiltrated hate groups will be at risk.

Substack CEO Hamish McKenzie: "Email is an important distribution channel. It should not be your only one." then he quotes Mills Baker on his team: "I know l've said this a lot, but I cannot emphasize enough that email will continue to change, to become less deterministically reliable as a means for distributing your work; this is a huge part of why we got into the app and feed business, as you may know! You can blame a few things:"
Substack's CEO now trying to scare people into *only* distributing their content through their proprietary app, not email. (The link he posted warns users away from email.) It's not enough that Substack's locking in publishers & readers with "notes" and comments, now they're escalating tactics.
I hate this man with every fiber of my being.
BREAKING: A federal appeals court says Texas can force public schools to display the Ten Commandments.
They said it DOESN'T violate the Establishment Clause and is NOT religious coercion. They're delusional.
This fight is heading to the Supreme Court.

NYT estimate of eventual margin of victory showing 3.5 percent win since vote counting started
the @nytimes.com estimate of the eventual margin on the VA redistricting referendum has been remarkably flat as votes have poured in from across the state www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
just saw someone call Kash Patel “J Edgar Boozer” and need to lie down
Thank you Senator, your comments have been duly noted.
Feel free to go through my 3500 posts here and see if you find anything that you'd consider supporting fascism and/or Nazis.
Otherwise you're just speedrunning through Godwin's Law.
I summarize my intelligence thusly:
I was smart enough to get into Mensa and stupid enough to get into Mensa leadership.
1) Mensa hasn't provided raw IQ scores for their tests for ages (there was a lawsuit from the APA because they were undercutting the price so badly).
2) None of the Mensa tests normalize to 168 IQ. 50/50 on the Wonderlic is ~160 IQ.
Former President of the local Mensa chapter (in their parlance Local Secretary or LocSec).
The number of ways I know for a fact that's a lie are astounding.
