It just makes one wonder how many catalog titles were licensing out to Crunchyroll years upon years upon years ago by licensors in Japan, with the expectation that CR was going to add all of them at one point or another, but instead have just been neglected.

And since CR no longer sublicenses...

It would also explain why Crunchyroll just started offering titles like Offside & Minky Momo from out of nowhere a few years back

Ashi Pro likely licensed those out to CR years ago, only for CR to do literally nothing with them until Ashi finally went "Hey, are you going to do ANYTHING with this?!"

In other words, Crunchyroll literally had one of the most iconic & influential anime of all time under license, for YEARS, and simply did nothing with it until Kodansha & TMS likely told them to finally do something with it to help promote the manga finally getting an English release.

Remembering when the MediaOCD guys revealed on a Discotek stream that Mr. Discotek did look into licensing Ashita no Joe TV a few years prior, only to be told back then that it was under license to someone else.

This info was revealed shortly after Crunchyroll started streaming Joe TV in late 2024.
