This is how "This side says X, but the other side says Y" balance ends up distorting journalism. Instead of being based on the journalist's own independent, impartial analysis this question really just ventriloquises a partisan opposition stance and gives the impression the BBC fully agrees with it.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO SETTLE FOR SECOND BEST?

No half-arsed agreement with the EU will restore the amazing advantages that we enjoyed - and celebrated - with free movement.

Let’s stop pissing about and rejoin the SM & CU and get free movement back. Only Starmer is stopping this.

The approach they have taken to Europe has already been influenced by Reform. Changing their red lines would be a bold first move - with added gain of up turn in the economy

Jeremy Clarkson: Brexit makes me want to sit in a gutter and weep Since we left the EU it’s been easier to get into Iraq than France. None of this has made our lives better in any way

Clarkson is right. Brexit has made travelling to the EU with any kind of professional equipment, nightmarish. Carnets for cameras etc is a bureaucratic, expensive waste of time. But it applies to loads of industries, esp musicians/performing artists etc.

This is wrong headed and tragic for young people but I also want my freedom to live, work and travel easily in the EU restored to me.

Up to 60% of Scottish voters said they don't want to trade with Donald Trump - we want to trade with friendly countries in the EU, with high standards that ban toxic pesticides and promote higher animal welfare

More coverage of ABY and David Tudor on Radio 4 this morning, which raises questions about the integrity of his claims that the situation was intolerable and he did everything he could. See Today at 7.17am onwards.

Yes but not just young people - for whom this is particularly important. What about the rest of us who have lost the right to live, work and travel seamlessly in Europe. I want those things returned to me asap.
