people love the *idea* of the police. they like security theater. they like seeing cop cars in "bad" neighborhoods keeping the "good" neighborhoods safe. they love the idea that in the event they are targeted by a crime the police will show up and solve it.

So glad to hear that 💜

Several years ago I was the sole caregiver for a family member with cancer. As a child, I lost grandparents to both lung and breast cancer. The fight against cancer is personal for me. The strides we’ve made could only be possible through research funding, something that I seek to restore as Senator

Widely known sex abuse rumors that no one can quite get a source on the record for about a leading Democratic governor candidate is exactly the kind of thing Gawker existed to report, I’m just saying.

Just a reminder that we can fund science, and save the earth, and feed everyone, and have health care and housing too.

All those things are within our reach, together.

Old enough to remember the decades when conservatives--moaning abt being taxed to fund welfare--harangued us all to death with "don't have babies if you can't pay for them" & "no sex before marriage."

So are they now demanding that teen girls be married off to wealthy older men? Make them say so.

Like, Comment, Subscribe, DIE: A Fiona Brooks Murder Mystery Check out Like, Comment, Subscribe, DIE: A Fiona Brooks Murder Mystery -
Knives Out meets Veronica Mars in a snowbound whodunit worthy of Agatha Christie—a razor-sharp detective mystery about fame, lies, and murder in the age of social media.

Before this day, I'd seen two dead bodies. By the end of it, I'd seen four.

My name is Fiona Brooks, and you may know me from the time I punched America's favorite TV daytime talk show host in the nose. You also might know me as the girl who solved her best friend's murder. Personally, I hope you don't remember at all. But I was given an opportunity to set the record straight, and I have to take it.

A young woman named Jane reached out to me. The police declared her brother's death a suicide, but she thought it was murder. I believed her and found myself back in my hometown. It turns out there's a mansion full of influencers, each with a motive to kill. By the end of the night, more people turn up dead, and a blizzard has us all trapped inside.

It's my job to solve it, and to explain to you what happened the first time I solved a murder. And then solve a second and a third murder. (It's a very busy night.)

Do I have what it takes, or was the first time a fluke?

Was it…

The Shady Manager

The Bad Boy Influencer

The Crypto Guy

The Drama Baddie

The Perfect Girlfriend

The Weird Homeowner

by K.C. Closest I can remember is Fahrenheit 451 - the TVesque parlor wall that was just inane characters that spoke to the viewer as if they were there but nothing of substance, no art to it.

A photo at the Allentown Film Festival featuring the co-directors, producers, and some hack all the way to the right

Last night I got a chance to see myself on film in a theater with an audience for the first time. Pretty fuckin surreal. People said nice things to me that I don't believe but appreciate.

It was a good night.

the thing about many of the people who write about politics in the papers of record is that they don't view politics as something that shapes the world we live in but as some sort of abstract concept that mostly exists just so they have something to write about
