‘Erupcja’ Movie Review: Charli XCX Goes Beyond Brat in an Understated Millennial Romance - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Despite its explosive title, Peter Ohs’s “Erupcja” is a gentle whisper of a film that washes over you with major bisexual energy. He blends subtle comedy and relationship drama to address millennial romance in an age when nothing feels guaranteed, least of all our futures. British tourists Bethany (Charli XCX) and Rob (Will Madden) travel

#Erupcja is such a bisexual vibe. Short, sweet, and well-constructed, with a great performance from Charli XCX. I'm here for it. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/erupcja-movi...

‘Departures’ Movie Review: A Gay Romance That Gets the Heartbreak Right, Even With an Uneven Tone - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Directors Neil Ely and Lloyd Eyre-Morgan’s “Departures” begins with the producer’s note that the story was inspired by those who screwed them over. Heartbreak is nothing new in LGBTQ-themed cinema, no...

#Departures is a real charmer with loads of earnestness to it, but it sorta gets in its own way with an overbearing voice-over and all of the on-screen doodling. Still, a worthwhile endeavor. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/departures-m...

#Obsession is a feral, twisted love story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. A vicious blend of comedy and horror that turns both genres on their head. Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette are brilliant. Full review coming later, but this is a savage delight.

‘Exit 8’ Movie Review: A Guilt-Ridden Purgatory That Keeps You Coming Back for More - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Video game movies got off on the wrong foot in 2026 with the horrendous “Return to Silent Hill.” Fortunately, “Exit 8” fares far better, exploring a new path without completely excavating the roots of the source material that made the horror walking simulator such a success. The story follows a nameless man (Kazunari Ninomiya), credited

#Exit8: There is comfort in the familiar, and Genki Kawamura finds the terror and danger in change and the unexpected — a relatable element of the human experience. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/exit-8-movie...

‘Faces of Death’ Movie Review: This Cult Classic Remake Swaps Shock Value for Obvious Social Media Commentary - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Daniel Goldhaber’s “Faces of Death” expands on an exploitative mockumentary, twisting it into a serial killer narrative with a meta wink on societal violence.

#FacesOfDeath relies on sluggish copycat tropes, and it’s never scary, thrilling, or as gory as it should be. My full review via @wehotimes.bsky.social:

#TheSuperMarioGalaxyMovie is barely a movie to begin with. It’s low-brow entertainment with no ambition beyond selling more product. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/the-super-ma...

‘Two Prosecutors’ Movie Review: Alexander Kuznetsov Anchors Sergey Loznitsa’s Bureaucratic Nightmare - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Sergey Loznitsa’s “Two Prosecutors” moves at about the same pace as the slow-moving government bureaucracy it revolves around, all to serve the purpose of mounting unease. ‘Alpha’ Movie Review: Julia Ducournau’s Misguided AIDS Allegory Is an Underbaked Misfire - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Julia Ducournau is an exhilarating talent with a real perspective on genre filmmaking. “Raw” was unsettling and grotesque, but her mesmerizingly strange “Titane” really proved what she’s capable of in...

‘undertone’ Movie Review: Ian Tuason’s Auditory Horror Debut Is Atmospheric but Can’t Quite Find Its Voice - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Ian Tuason’s “undertone” is somewhere at the intersection between the supernatural happenings that go bump in the night of “Paranormal Activity,” the slow-burning audio-visual abstractness of “Skinama...

‘The Bride!’ Movie Review: Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Monster Mash-Up Is Alive, Angry, and Unevenly Stitched Together - WEHO TIMES West Hollywood News, Nightlife and Events Maggie Gyllenhaal’s adaptation of “The Lost Daughter” felt deeply personal and intrinsically rich in its taboo approach to motherhood and the desperate search for identity. “The Bride!” is her sophomo...

#TheBrideMovie: We’ve never seen The Bride like this, and it’s the kind of brazen swing that Hollywood needs more of. Unfortunately, strong messaging and themes lose their impact behind a mess of too many generic subplots. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/the-bride-mo...

Writer-director Emerald...

Emerald Fennell’s #WutheringHeightsMovie is a treacherous seesaw power struggle seeped in sensationalized romantic smoldering with seduction. It’s less of a swoon-worthy romance and more of a love-obsessed psychological tragedy. My review via @wehotimes.bsky.social: wehotimes.com/wuthering-he...

#WutheringHeightsMovie is a sumptuous feast for the romantic in us all. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi’s chemistry is divine. It’s a little long and patchy, but it’s easy to get caught in its web. Anthony Willis’s score & Charli XCX’s songs are major. Stunning cinematography.
