I'm not being original here, but this reminds me of that quote about journalism where if one side says it's raining and the other says it's not, the journalist should stick their head outside and determine who is right.

This is the kind of D&D post that makes me want to incorporate it into my next session

Pretty rad! I watch most checkpoints, and find it to be a great check in to a community I don't get to spend enough time in thanks to a busy workload. You folks all do great work!

Turkish delight is FAR from middling!

I also solely know of its existence from being a child and asking my mother because I wanted to know what the candy in the book was.

Similar to how Madeline L'engle taught me what a cardigan was.

Also, it turns out that when you only start asking people if they want to grab a beer with you a Saturday night at 7:45pm that it hits up against actual "plans" that people have.

Who knew!

I've oddly got a 3 hour layover in YVR. I cannot begin to tell you how cool it is to realize I can jet into town to have a beer and then head back

I miss this beautiful town!

And once again I want to say how much I love the Canada Line, a refrain I've had for over 15 years now

another day in which, on top of everything else, I'm mad about the SFF cover shift from "little pre-raphaelite painting you can put in your pocket" to "we gave the intern our Canva log-in"

Staffers across a continent are madly jealous of the sheer level of game perpetually on display.

And also Mamdani keeps landing bangers.

‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ cast reacts to Nicholas Brendon’s death: ‘My sweet Nicky’ Brendan died at the age of 54, his family announced on Friday.

I know it's complex as all get out, and that on rewatch, the character is certainly less than stellar, but I loved that character as a kid.

54 is just too young (even with all the things).

Also he was never banned from being alone with Trachtenberg after "the incident" like someone else...

I work very hard to minimize what can notify and how. Nothing makes noise, vibrations are only for app's where the notification is likely urgent (phone calls and actual text messages).

Good read to consider what notifications do to your brain!

They’re telling me a great empire will be destroyed if I attack Persia. Even the oracles who don’t like me very much, very nasty, they all said to me, “Sir, it’s one of the great empires, and it’ll be destroyed. And all because you attacked Persia.” That’s what they’re telling me.

I refuse to believe that there are a significant number of voters in the Beaches that know who either person is.

I hate continually having to shout "it's a main Street poll" into the ether.

Very little gets used for potholes.

The BCTFA, which does a host of things, has a budget of $16bn while the motor fuel tax and sales tax on car rentals combine for $500m.

And it's muni's that fill most potholes, funded from property taxes.
