Homemade Portillos copycat beef n cheddar croissant for lunch today. Thankful I learned how to do this sort of thing working at a Chicago hot dog joint as a kid. #chicagofood #foodie #homecooking #homemaker

love the discounted bread section at Walmart! Throw it in the fridge or freezer so it doesn't get moldy, and you have quite a bit of time to use it. Besides the obvious sandwiches and toast, it's great for making croutons, breadcrumbs, stuffings etc. #foodie #homecooking #homemaker #frugal

needed freezer space so it was time to use that turkey I got cheap at Thanksgiving ๐Ÿ™‚. Stuffings were made in a crockpot on high then transferred to oven while turkey was resting to evaporate the extra moisture. I made gravy, but don't like it myself. #cooking #frugalmomma #homemaker

My Dilly Bar last night gave me a good laugh. It's mostly teenagers at the store, my inner forever 13 year old wants to know how did they miss this?

I never said that. It is important to me, I just don't want it on my bluesky.

please keep politics, whether it is about voting or not to vote, about one party over another, comments about politicians etc off my feed. It is not the content I want on my profile. Political coments will be deleted in the future. thank you.

they do! Granted I am in rural WI where they have a heavy focus on agriculture. Most high schools have greenhouses and elementary schools do misc things like starting flowers for mother's day. I have a friend who basically ran a garden program at a local high school. Libraries have seed banks too.

grocery store horseradish sprouting, grocery store bok choy regrowing, grocery store rosemary propagated by clippings and rooting hormone, take out cups reused for starting pepper plants. Love my south window!

who knew the ends of grocery store green onions would regrow so well? I started them in water until I saw new root growth. #foodie #gardening

These pancakes are really good! I had to spread out the batter because it was thick yet light and fluffy at the same time. I subbed 1 1/2 C whole milk Greek yogurt plus 1/2 C whole milk instead of sourdough milk.

The best way to cook bacon is on a cookie sheet in an oven. I start out with a cold oven but set temp to 400-425ยฐ flipping once. Easy to save the bacon grease this way too.

Oatmeal Fruit Bars using yellow cake mix. My son liked it, I did not. Too sweet and too "fake" tasting from the cake mix. You decide. #baking #foodie #homecooking #recipe #dessert
