Actually the framers knew there was no way to stop corruption & tyranny. That's why all the processes they made really were made to slow it down as much as possible rather than stop it. In their view it was always an informed and engaged citizenry that was supposed to be the final check and balance.

They did though Article 5 just needs 34 states to come together and makes it all a state issue. Now we just need State governments to act like our country is dying and do their jobs. I'm not holding my breath though.

For this whole administration our states should be calling Article 5 for the first time as well. It was made for a complete breakdown of our checks and balances. It cuts out Congress and could be used to force the changes we need now. If we keep waiting to use our checks and balances we will fail.
