Brilliant and much-needed paper, by the brave Anna Kende and József Pántya, examining how we can protect academic freedom in illiberal political contexts. It’s a must-read.

Our paper on teachers’ role in preventing gender-based violence is out!

We looked at what drives or limits teachers in Italy & Hungary (where the government adores this topic) when organizing GBV-prevention activities—from self-efficacy & moral responsibility to barriers like training & politics.

Hősök a színpadon, bántalmazók az életben – Miért rajongunk értük mégis? Ha egy hírességről kiderül, hogy bántalmazó, miért nem akarjuk elhinni? A válasz a sztereotípiákban és a rajongásban rejlik.

When a famous artist or athlete commits abuse, why do we often ask first about their career, not the victim?
I spoke with WMN about the evergreen dilemma: can — or should — we separate the abuser from their art?

My term as @polpsyispp.bsky.social ECC Chair has come to an end. It’s been a great experience and honor to serve, especially alongside this fantastic group.

Here’s a (not-so-great but very real) photo from our ECC dinner — full of good conversations and laughter.

Thank you all for this year! 💙

Every time we discuss these topics, I walk away with new insights. Let’s keep organizing events like this and spreading the message that research shouldn’t be exclusively WEIRD!

Under Pressure, Psychology Accreditation Board Suspends Diversity Standards As the Trump administration threatens to strip accrediting bodies of their power, many are scrambling to purge diversity requirements.

Extremely disappointing & cowardly. The American Psychological Association is rescinding diversity requirements. Not due to any actual mandate from the federal government, but only because it may *someday* face pressure from the government www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/h...

Had such a great hands-on workshop on open science and data handling with Sarah Zahreddine organised by ISPP ECC @polpsyispp.bsky.social. It made me more confident with data, and showed how small, seemingly irrelevant things matter. The FAIR principles finally got real, practical meaning.
